polished case on 1984 SS datejust - wrong?

Ive seen a datejust that i quite like, its a 1984 mens SS with tapestry dial.

The jubilee bracelet has been renewed and it's genuine Rolex
All in all loks pretty good and the seler is a local jewellers who have been there for around 10 years and have bought a ring from me before, they will give a service and a 12 month warranty.
I posted on here before but didnt really get a lot of feedback.

Anyway, long story short.

My only reservation is that it looks like the case has been polished, which doesnt look bad at all but i wonder if it's wrong to hav done this, should it be brushed steel?

It's not a total deal breaker but i dont want to buy something that one could consider ruined?

Any opinions please?

My 6426 has had all the brushed surfaces polished, I didn't know any wiser until after purchase but nobody ever mentioned it to me on here. I just noticed after looking at pics. I thought about getting my case rebrushed, but from all the pics I saw it never quite came out like the factory so I just left it as is. Definitely gleams in the sun. Doesn't attract scratches as bad as one would think. It's a personal preference and wouldn't affect the value much more than a rebrushing would cost I imagine.

i must say i like the polished look because the centre of the bracelet is polished and it gives a nice contrast.

what would a refinish cost?
