This is good advice...
I was just going to say the same...Rolex is something you can wear all the time and not much worries.. Yes..patek is whole different level..but you need to see if the patek fits in your lifestyle...I have been up and down the horological ladder and come back to rolex as our everyday watch... no bad choices..good luck Quote:

Well I have has Patek 5127 and sold it to get DD WG.
To OP These are both awesome watches but have different utility. Wearing a yellow it rose gold bracelet watch everyday can become tricky unless your social environment is such where other people wear the same and you would not feel over-golden for the lack of better term. I personally think this particular PP is a very respectable in PP line that will almost certainly be worth wearing even for your kids. That said I believe one has to buy somehing that one really likes. Look at your budget situation and see if you can afford another piece down the road. If so, get Rolex since you crave it and find PP in secondary market down the road. Or if you are leaning toward PP then get it and check secondary market for Rolex in everose 36. 40 may take a little time before you can get a good on it in secondary market. ONE last note: PP you will enjoy yourself and it will mosty be off the radar watch for MOST people except those who advised you and those who know watches. Whereas this PARTICULAR Rolex will impress anyone who see it. Its more recognized brand, but more than that being in Rose Gold bracelet it will stand out in parties, gathering etc. If you get satisfaction when other people apreciate it, then Rolex it is. |

Get what you like, unless you're your Grail watch is the one your wife and friends want you to have!
Can't go wrong either way, but lean towards the DD40.

Who's going to be wearing it? You're wife and her mates or you. Go with the grail.

Wearing a full gold is never too much. Prefer the Patek though.

At this rate, I'll get a DD40 before the OP . Still maybe that's my fault as he was going off in a Patek RG Nautilus direction when last we met...

Go with your grail watch. My wife does not like my gold watches, but I find the color fascinating, almost mesmerizing, and it goes well with my skin tone.
