As Paul stated it's a personal decision. Going on what others say can lead to disapointment.

That said the YM gives you a measure of functionality as the Sub or DS with a stunning Blue dial.

My opinion would be the SD if I were in your shoes. The YM blue dial is a fine watch, a good friend of mine wears one daily and I've had some wrist time with it and it wears well. Personally when I acquire a blue dial watch, it will be one with a bezel that matches (TT Sub) because that design just appears more uniform and attractive to me.

You mentioned you preferred the shape and proportions of the pre-ceramic subs, and the SDc fits that closest of any of the current divers by far. The SDc wears well and looks like a true 40mm watch.

IMO the two best SS Rolex pieces today are the Daytona and BLNR

Perfect duo.

The YM blue is like the BMW M series of the submariner...

I'd say SDc, then Daytona in the future!

I would be looking at Daytona as a stablemate for the BLNR.

IF I had to choose between the 2 you picked I would go SD.

Thinking the same thing. The DJ2 is a very comfortable piece and the case sits lower on the wrist. The SDk case lugs appeal to me over the Sub and of course the glidelock makes getting a proper fit easy. Not a fan of the YM, sorry. I love the blue dial but the engraved monochrom bezel just doesn't do it for me.

Tough choice.
