Which Rolex model(s) have the most worldwide appeal?

To me, it seems like the Daytona is universally popular and highly sought after in all regions of the world. The SS tool watches are very popular in the US, however, in some SE Asian countries, these are actually less preferred and the DJ/DD's are more popular.

I think it would be safe to say the sport models in general sell the best.

Agreed I have been told it is Datejust but it is neck and neck with the Submariner.

Datejust is a very broad line though with different case sizes, dial options, bezel options, etc.

I reckon Submariner and DJ from what I've seen in the wild. Occasionally see the odd Daytona, but only once in a blue moon

These are 1 and 2 I think but many models are sought after and that's what helps make it such a prestigious brand.

DJ sales in Vietnam destroy sport models. The 36mm range is by far the most popular.

I have to believe it is the DJ variants overall.

A datejust in 36mm two tone or all stainless a random dude in the jungle of Africa would even know everyone knows the datejust.

Gotta be the datejust, it just has so many different variations.

I went into a Rolex AD recently in a big city. There were almost 60 datejusts taking up an entire showcase. Who knows how many they actually sell but the numbers have to be big for Rolex Canada to distribute this many to one dealership. I'm going to vote Datejust (combining all variations of materials and dials)

And close to 300 models out on display alone. I'm sure there are more in the vault. Crazy numbers compared to my little AD where I live.

African jungle? Nice. Better bring a DSSD in case you have to knock out a tiger.

The Daytona is a beautiful watch but I believe most men would agree its rather feminine and the dial is too small.

Id say Sub

I read that the TT Datejust is not loved in Italy for some reason.

I would guess a submariner, with the DateJust and GMT close, with the Daytona trying to nudge in there.

My non-scientific sample says DJ, Sub/SD, Daytona, with far fewer examples of the rest.

I would also say that the male/ female ratio is 95/5 or higher.

I can well believe it's the DJ. Apart from the wide array of material and dial variants, there is the 36mm size. I've seen more Rolexes per head in Asia, especially Singapore and HK, than I have in any other part of the world and the 36mm is a more suitable size for the general populous. That said, I've seen an uncanny amount of women here wearing Submariners.

Submariner (I think one of the most iconic watches in history) and then DJ.... Daytonas are way too expensive to be that appealing for the common guy. Maybe i´m just too poor but i dont think i will ever be able to buy one... which for me makes it much less appealing.

imagur
