Anthem question

Okay, I haven't googled this (too lazy) but I have a stoopid question. I'm watching the Commonwealth Games on TV and while the coverage is good, CBC is obviously doing this on a shoestring.

Now, at the Olympics, the UK team is the UK team, regardless if they're from Scotland, Wales or England. So when they win (I guess it happens sometimes, LOL) they play 'God Save the Queen'.

But at the Commonwealth Games, if say a Scottish athlete wins gold, what anthem do they play at the medal ceremonies? Same for Wales???

Use Google or ask someone who has a deep and personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

At the Commonwealth Games, as at the Olympic Games, the anthem or national song of the winning athlete's country is played at the medal ceremonies. Unlike the Olympics, however, where England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland compete together as the United Kingdom (whose national anthem is God Save the Queen), at the Commonwealth Games they compete as separate nations, and their national songs are played instead.

Welsh National Anthem. Mae Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau (Land of my fathers)
Scottish National Anthem.un-official Flower of Scotland,The current Official National Anthem in Scotland is God Save the Queen ...

Think Lucifer is the name of his pet sheep JJ.

Welsh is a Celtic language, closely related to Cornish and Breton. The Welsh thats used today is directly descended from the language of the sixth century.Scottish is the Gaelic Language of Scotland, the Irish is Gaelach, but the Welsh Irish Scots are all original from the Celtic tribes. While the English not the true inhabitants of great Britain, there language is a Germanic Language of the Indo-European Family, Anglo-Saxon being the first

Thanks for the clarification. It brought back memories from European History 101. Of course 'us' Celts are the true inhabitants of Britain... damn those invading germanics. LOL
