Dial opinions

Came across this dial and can't really find any details about it. Somewhere around the 60s I think?

I think that is a '63. Here is a picture of the '64. Difference is obvious.

Nice dial, the "khanjar" or Omani Coast of Arm was printed on some Rolex dial after 1972… With that being said, the above logo isn't original to the watch, it was added later…

Trying to learn things as the Omani Khanjar has always fascinated me. What makes you say that the logo was applied later? Just the fact that the Explorer is an earlier model? Or are there any other signs?

Anirudh,
In my opinion, the 50's are way too early for any watch with in a khanjar on a dial. In the late 50's Oman was riddled with inner military conflicts, i highly doubt they had "time" to make special watches.
In addition, I've been collecting logo dials for 15+ years, i've never seen a pre-1971/72 Omani Rolex.
Upon look up Oman's pre-Sultan Qaboos history, one will quickly realise that Sultan Qaboos put Oman and Omani Rolex watches on the map
Happy hunting, it's a lot of fun!

Lamone, thank you for sharing your knowledge and opinion. I guess I should pass on this. Even other experts seem to be befuddled with this dial.
