2016 Tudor Black Bay W/ In House Movement

Looks like they actually followed the path of the Pelagos, but not as many lines ;)

New dial, new movement and looks like new bracelet style too.

Who's trading in (up)?

Dial layout and movement of the new one are very nice, the riveted bracelet is not for me, though.

I prefer the older dial. Not sure yet about the rivet bracelet.

I agree.

They did a good job with the dial, much better than the novel that is the Pelagos dial. The font/text on the first black bay dial however is absolutely charming IMO. The way "self winding" curves is a beautiful little detail that works well with the heritage inspiration.

Love the bracelet

I would think the last few links near the clasp would be removable.

The one with ETA movement will become a collectors item as it has only been on the market for 1 year.

I could go either way on the dial, the bracelet interests me though.

Closer to six months isn't it?

I think it looks great. I can see myself getting it. Thanks.

I like both dials equally, I think, but I share your reservation about the bracelet. Doesn't look good at all to me. I get the marine rivet connection, but I'm just not keen.

I don't know whether that follows, necessarily, but you could be right. I certainly prefer it to it's replacement, but my wallet is pleased since it just looks too big on my wrist

old dial with the rose & curved text for sure. i don't see the point of making it seem "more rolex". :-(

You are right! It was presented at Baselworld 1 year ago, but came on the market later.

Normally an ETA version of a watch doesn't turn into the most collectible version, but it does have a different dial, with the rose instead of the shield and different text and the bracelet is smooth on the sides without the rivet heads. At least you could call it a limited edition :)

They went too far with the "riveted" bracelet. Pretty silly thing to do.

It's a shame, as that in-house movement is great and the price is reasonable. I simply won't wear that bracelet, though.

1 step forward (in-house) and 2 steps back (ugly bracelet).

Would have to opt for the leather or fabric strap.

Thanks Chad.

The new BBR is now available with a burgundy strap. Would like to get one for my old BBR for sure, hope that it can be bought separately.

The Black Bay Black was suddenly lanched last October, not announced at Baselworld a year ago, as I recall. It was a surprise mid-year release.

I'm glad I bought my "maybe collectors" BB Black when I did. Not a fan of the rivets.

One of my favorite watches. Price conscious. Excellent design. Feels great on wrist.

I have all three.

But it's getting to be too many variations IMO.

Happy with the older model.

Gotta see the "Dark" black bay in person, I think it will be beyond awesome.

I prefer the older model too. Hopefully I can find one when I'm ready to buy later this year.

Later this year shouldn't be a problem. I assume there will be a wave of people trading their BBs in for the newer model. 5 years from now may be a bit more difficult.
