Flip your "stubby" Explorer I?

Anyone who owns a old 214270, I really curious to know what is your plan after Rolex just dropped this "correct" version

I just purchased mine in February, to be honest, the short hand doesn't really bother me. But I am really attempted by the all lumed numbers. Not too sure if I want to flip mine for the new one, god knows how long the waiting list at AD will be.

I'm perfectly content with mine. The so called short hands never seemed short to me and I prefer the white gold 3, 6, 9 markers to the totally lumed dial. No regrets with the one I have.

New bracelet? I wasn't aware that there were any bracelet changes....just the lume and the hands.

I really dislike all the apparent hate for my new 2015 214270. I agree hands could be slightly larger but I have a hard time even seeing the difference. What I love about mine however is the none lume numbers. The white gold is brilliant and will age much better. Lume fads, gold is forever :). I plan on keeping mine forever, so small incremental updates don't bother me. Of the new watched I hope people want to sell their old daytonas. I love the old stainless, new ceramic is too much. Too each their own!

My bad, I read it wrong, they just put a new description for the same bracelet

Spot on! 👍 The older Explorers are no worse than the newest release. They're all different in subtle ways. I'll never flip mine regardless of how many changes are made in the coming years.

I would keep it. It's a lot of hubub for a few new indices and hands.

Today, i've been really enjoying my small handed, non-lumed quarter-arabic watch in a weird sort of way! Love the new one too though and very happy for all those who can now jump-in and enjoy nice changes. Maybe the new Milgauss-based Air King next...

All this talk about the 3 6 9 lume fading over time, isn't this the same lume as in the other indices, and isn't the 3 6 9 surrounded by the same white gold as those same indices? No hate here, I like them both but to say the lume is going to age on the numerals seems silly, if it does age it should age the same as the other lume on the dial. Also as far as anyone knows the new chromalite ages pretty much like the cerachrome bezel inserts, it doesn't. I'd take either variation for what it's worth.

Small hands, long hands, fat hands, really mean little if you like the way It looks. And if you don't then flip it now for cash and place your order!

I sold mine as I felt it was way too small on me.
It was a thing of beauty though, with it's inky black dial and beautiful proportions.

I'll keep mine as well. I would appreciate the slightly wider hands which would aid in readability but lumed numerals are of no real advantage that I can see. The extra cost to "upgrade" would not be worth it to me.

I have always liked that the EXP is the only model (I believe-someone correct me if I'm wrong) that has a stick dial with mercedes hands...these couple of tweaks may just push me off the fence.

Maybe I'm crazy, but other than the lumed 3-6-9 numbers, I can't really tell a difference between the "stubby" hands and the new ones.

Likewise.

The 114270 is the apotheosis of the Explorer.

I like the new version 214270, based on the photos, but no plan for a flip here. The now old 214270 is still as nice as it was yesterday.

SAVE IT. "Stumpy" will hold value, plus the WG numerals gave the watch an element of dressy elegance. The new one is great, but sports all the way.

Someone's got to come up with a better name than stubby. Maybe a contest or a poll. 😉
