Small wrists--need advice

I've decided I definitely want to buy new from an AD. The problem is that for a small-wristed fellow like myself, there are not many choices. Even the 39mm Milgauss and Explorer I are a little too big for my liking.

Definitely want a professional bezel.

On the Rolex website, the only professional bezel watches below 39mm are a handful of 35mm YMs that really don't float my boat

Can I find "new" watches from an AD that aren't listed on the Rolex website? Maybe a 36 or 37mm that I haven't come across yet?

All models area available on their website.

I would say go for a Daytona if you want a sport watch. They claim its 40mm, but its actually smaller. It wears amazing, I also have small wrists and it is nearly perfect on mine.

Is it typical for Rolex to have multiple dial options? For the new 37mm YM you just mentioned, will I be able to get something other than that chocolate dial?

Great watch, but is that something I can still find "new" at an AD? Buying pre-owned will always keep me wondering....

If your patient you can find a perfect example for a fair price.

It is a beautiful watch with a great balance and design.

It didn't fit my wrist size very well (40mm is my best fit) so I sold mine to a friend.

A few years back, I broke my wrist badly. After surgery, my wrist looks slightly larger than before. Good luck

Try a Daytona. It wears great on small wrists!

what size wrist? pic of any watch on your wrist please. i don't have terribly small wrist - 7.25" but the largest watch i've worn until last month was 40mm. i now have 3 significantly larger watches including an IWC Top Gun at 46mm.

No sure in the future. Now it only has the grey dial.

You might be able to find a 40mm explorer 2. They wear small and look less bulky than the 39mm explorer or the Milgauss. I say might as it was not a popular model and tended to sit for a while. It was also one of the last models to be replaced with a new six digit reference so the old one looked a little out of date without the solid bracelet etc so would get overlooked. I have found a couple NOS examples over the past year and my daily watch is actually a black dial. Best watch Rolex made IMHO. Plus if you find one you should be able to negotiate a good discount from the AD.

I'm a pretty big guy as was my Dad. I wear his Date which is 34 mm I think. It looks great with a suit.

I'd try on a 36mm OP, SD4k and Daytona.
The SD and Daytona wear smaller than other 40mm Pro models.

I have a 6 1/4 inch wrist (or there about) and the sd4k fits well.

My wrists measure 6.25 inches circumference. I just can't stand to see any space between my wrist and the lug. Even the 39mm Explorer I comes off the wrist a little.

Does anyone know how I would go about finding that 36mm Explorer I from a few years back? Do ADs still carry those? I have reservations about buying preowned.

It's hard to gain wrist mass.
Fingertip pushups usually help though

Be patient. Some NOS (that's New Old Stock) pops up every now and then.

Does it have to be Rolex? There's a 38 mm Zenith El Primero that is iconic

Exactly what I need! How do I go about doing that? Should I just call local dealers and tell them to keep an eye out for that ref number?

Explorer 14270 or 114270 is what you need.

You might have to look at older models. I can't wear a modern Sub because of the maxi case & so I found that the 14060 worked best. Was a tad slimmer & lighter than the date version & although is large, it's not that bad. You'll get used to the heft of it. I was also able to try on an older Explorer II (with red hands...gahd I always forget the model #!) & it felt comfortable. Fit a bit smaller than the 14060. Check out the Daytona and as others have mentioned, it does fit smaller than its stated size.
The new YM comes in 37mm & a 40mm so that is another option when it comes out. Then of course there's the DJ if you want to go that route. The 36mm will be absolutely fine. Either colour in a stick version (blue ..LOL), smooth bezel, oyster bracelet (imo anyway) will have a sporty elegance to it.

What about the new Tudor Heritage Black Bay 36 or DateJust 36?

Depends on how small your wrists are. I have thin wrists and wear sizes from a 34mm air-king, which is incredibly comfortable, to a 40mm BLNR that fits great with no lug overhang. I also wear a Seamaster AT that is that is 38.5mm and have included some pics. My wrists are about 6.5 inches.

If your looking for a professional model try the GMT Master II LN or BLNR. It has thinner lugs than the Sub (which does look large on me as a result of the more square lug shape). A Daytona would also be a great choice as it is thinner or even a YM I.

Happy Hunting!

Edit: Just saw you mention your wrists are 6.25... then it really depends on how flat/wide they are to avoid lug overhang.
