Potential purchase - Any info?
My first potential vintage purchase;
When buying my 14060M I noticed a Vintage GMT master that caught my eye. A year has passed, and I have the itch. So I went back to watchfinder today, and this watch is still available...the specific watch can be found here; http://www.watchfinderstore.com/prod...tainless-steel First real vintage I've ever handled, so excuse my ignorance here; I noticed the lume was still strong on both the hour markers and hands, clearly the hands look replaced at some point. But the hour markers? Before making a decision I thought it smart to come back here and see if any of you club pros can help settle my mind, my hopes is that the dial has not been replaced but somehow re-lumed. If re-painted, does that damage the potential resale as a vintage collectors piece? I uploaded a pic I took today. Any additional information would be really helpful. Thanks in advance! |

appears to be one of the 90;'s service dials badged swiss <25t but actually lumi. thats probably better than relumed dial , but still hits value of the watch considerably. |

The bracelet is probably a later service replacement along with the service hands and dial. The insert is aftermarket and not an original Rolex insert.

OP...this is all you need to know from this Forum's resident GMT expert J.T. You did well asking for expertise here where it is gladly given to all who ask. Keep looking and an "honest" vintage piece will come your way...especially if you limit your search to the outstanding "trusted sellers" found in the "Who's Who" section. Good luck with your search...and welcome here!
