I could not resist. I bought the BBB today and it is being held by my AD. I love the original dial and the fact that it will be easy to service convinced me to grab one while they were still available. It will be worn, however, not tucked away for safe keeping.

Looks like a few people are dumping their BB Black ETAs on Ebay after the news of in-house. Take advantage!

And admittedly I think it's pretty damn cool to own a watch that was basically only released for 6 months. I've decided to hang on to this beauty :) |

Bracelet rivets bother me, otherwise a well designed piece. I think this piece would have to have a strap or changed bracelet of some sort. May be a future buy non the less! Would love to own a Tudor.

I have to say I like the first BBB better. If they had not messed with it and just put the in house movement in it I would say I probably would have gotten one. Of the new ones all I can say is go Brasso!

I just went out this weekend and scooped up an original BBB - I love the dial with the rose and the rotor, self winding printing.
I also agree that this will be collectible - very short run on the heritage line. Excited for my first Tudor. |

Last week, there were 6 or 7 BB Blacks available on ebay. Today, I checked and only 3 were available. Seems like people are snapping them up.
Also, the secondary market price for black appears to be holding steady, averaging $2-3k more than the blues or reds. The cheapest I've seen for black is about $2700 with leather strap. I haven't seen any under $3k for bracelet. Bodes well for future value, especially this early in the game. I'm so curious as to what it'll be in the future. You should check out HQ Milton's asking prices for vintage Tudor snowflakes. For those of you who already own an ETA BB Black, I think we're looking good! |

I meant the blacks are going for $200-$300 more than reds or blues, not $2-3k lol

Replace the shield with the rose, then it's a winner.

I, too, prefer the old dial, but I like the rivets. Wish the new one had a holes case.

I heard the new one was thicker to accommodate the new movement. Anyone else hear that or is it an unfounded rumor?

I've read that the new pelagos in-house is 0.5 mm thicker than the eta, so I think it's safe to presume that the new BB is similarly thicker. So it would go from 12.7 (eta) to 13.2 or so.
The idea of the new movement is nice, but my main complaint about the BB was the thickness, and now it's thicker. From my standpoint, the tradeoff for new movement (shield for rose, new text, rivets, thickness) is not attractive. |

My NF with the new movement is 13.5mm thick, which is 1mm greater than my Explorer II. If doesn't feel top heavy or look awkward though. The movement has been incredibly accurate and stable. By stability I mean that the 2824 in my Ranger started out at +3s/d and now is -1s/d a year later. The NF has been rock solid losing a second during the day on the wrist and gaining it back at night if left face up.
