The new +2/-2 Superlative Chronometer spec is legit

Just wanted to share that rather than mere marketing hype, I +2/-2 Superlative Chronometer specification seems to be legitimate.

I've been keeping track of the accuracy of my new Datejust and over the first 5 days it has lost a combine total of THREE SECONDS.

I'm certainly impressed and so far this is definitely the most accurate watch I've ever owned.

try laying it on its side at night to prevent loss w crown up......alot of the timing has to do with how watch is worn and stored at night IF stored....by the sounds of it you should be able to gain back those 3 sec pretty easily.....

I think crown up is to slow the watch...

I am at plus 2 seconds per day. I don't know if the positioning works with the new movement.

My new Rolex have always been within 2s per day... I bought them before the new spec was announced

I have a watch that consistently runs +.25s/day. It's not my DeepSea though. Wish any of my Rolexes over the years were as good at timekeeping as those from the Other brand that shall not be named. :)

I do hope the +/-2 proves to be true though. Congrats on the fine-running specimen.

My experience with four Rolex watches over the last few years is that they have been meeting the new standard for some time. I hope that one result will be to push competitors to up their game and achieve similar results.
The whole industry would benefit from raised standards. Indeed, I think Rolex quality does help keep other manufacturers on their toes. I hope that doesn't sound arrogant or patronising to other makes.

My sub C bluesy runs at -1/+1 a day...
Depending on how I let it rest at night ...
Face up or crown up....

My Rolex watches have always kept better time than a few well know high end brands.

My 114060 has been running a little less than +1 second a week. Pleased so far. I've been placing it crown side up every night to try and slow it more.

My newer (01-16) BLNR for the last few months has been averaging -1 second a day. Best time keeping Rolex I have ever owned.

All marketing but also a testament to the venerable Rolex movement.

No matter the make of watch or the movement its only as good as what its been regulated to.I have a 1980 5513 that keeps a consistent +2 seconds a day plus a Chinese Seagull ST19 movement that after careful regulation runs a consistent +2 a day cost of that complete watch just $60.All Rolex made in the last 40 odd years could after careful regulation run to a second or so a day.But if any mechanical watch performs to within few seconds a day either way out of 86400 its a mechanical marvel.

Got to ask why.

Its gaining about a second every 5 days with me placing it crown side up every night. I would think it would gain more in other positions no?

My 114300 was at 2 seconds fast day for the first week or two. It's settled to just over 1 second fast per day. My watch is stored dial up overnight. I'm very happy with this.

I don't understand; surely the offering of an objective, verifiable, standard is the opposite of most marketing. Is there anything Rolex could say or do which isn't put down to 'marketing,'?
Indeed, if making more verifiably accurate watches is 'marketing' can we have more of it please. How about, say, IWC offering a similar standard? Wouldn't that be good for customers?
I can check whether m watch meets the 'plus or minus 2' test; I can't check slogans such as 'world class performance', 'new standards of accuracy'[ or 'best engineered'.

My 114300 w/ 3132 movement is running very well too! +4 seconds since last Friday. In line with its cousin, my 214270.

My Hulk from 2010 run +1 sec a day. I hate when one of my watch run slower per day than faster.
