Preventive maintenance battery change
How often as preventive maintenance should the battery in my
Oysterquartz Datejust be changed? |

The conservative approach is to replace the battery and gaskets once per year along with water-resistance testing. Most people will just wait until the battery dies but the risk is that the battery will start leaking at some point. If it does leak, it can damage the movement. If it was my watch, I would be comfortable replacing the battery every two years or so and replacing the gaskets about every five years.

Thank you.
I was going to follow the two year protocol. |

That's what I would've recommended as well. If the battery doesn't last at least 2 years, the movement is in need of service!
