Love it!!! Thankfully my eyesight is still strong enough to not require the cyclops, so I would definitely consider this. I think it looks so much better.

Looks great - fantastic mods.
Agree that the removal of the crown guards looks great, maxi dial from the LV and the no cyclops crystal also look great. Not sure about the fixed spring bars, but overall I really like the modifications. Wish Rolex was not so stuffy/rigid about their brand and their willingness to service modified watches, for me it's a turn huge turn off. Don't get me started about trying to order a jubilee bracelet for my GMTII from an AD.......... LOL Thank goodness for the independents like ABC! |

The more I look at the face, the more I love the no cyclops. And the welded bars are such a cool statement....nato/zulus only. Bravo Jason
Have you thought about getting a 116610 bezel and just taking the blue pearl for your 16610...the ultimate in OCD/WIS disorder, I know, but if you can shave the CGs then I'm sure the pearls can be swapped. |

Love it, Jason.
I would call a watch like this a Submariner Outlaw. Kind of like the mods that Magnus Walker does to his outlaw Porsche 911 cars. Well done, I'm glad you have the cojones to follow your own vision! |

Looks great. Love the clean look and the no crown guards. I would not have had the cajones to do it but if I had that fleet of sea dwellers I would do it too.

I like it. I'm not a fan of NATO straps and would love to see that watch on something like a RubberB

I seem to be the only dissenter on this topic, with all respect it is just not for me and I would never make those mods to a Rolex (or wear one with them). However, it is your watch, you did what made you happy and you obviously love it. So, I say wear it in good health and congratulations sir!

I have seen some very tasteful mods recently - by nweash on his BLNR (Daytona crystal, brushed PCLs) and SC11 on his SubC (brushed case, matte ceramic bezel)
I think you can add this one to the list too! I like the combination of the maxi dial of the 16610LV with the black bezel and Daytona crystal. I don't mind cyclops on crystals, but these mods have gotten me thinking whether the dial would look better & cleaner without the cyclops... Kudos to ABC. They do fantastic work |

Hello everybody,
Jason, I am so happy that you like the watch! I know that it's a clichee but I am truely glad that the watch went to a good home and is enjoyed. That gives me the chance to enjoy it still when I see pics from it on TRF. This project was in my head for almost 3 years and I am still thrilled by the result. However, I have too many watches in my rotation and the modified Sub simply has not had much wrist time! So I decided to sell it and the fact, that Jason was chasing me made it easy for me to let it go! An added bonus was to drop the watch off in person at ABC WW and meet Edvi and Beau finally during my California visit earlier. Great folks and when you meet them in person, you'll understand even more, why their stuff turns out so great!!! Now to those, who asked, why the blue lume: 1. The initial goal was to create a modern Rolex Submariner, that James Bond would wear today - if there wasn't the Omega contract. Modern watches those days have blue lume - so I went for it. 2. I simply love the blue lume!!! 3. and maybe much more importantly: A very good friend of mine has a 16610LN and adores the Maxidial. So, he's gotten the LV dial and hands and has them proudly in his watch. If Jason would want to swap back to green lume, I may arrange the back-swapping for him. @Jason: I can't say how much I am delighted about how much you like the watch - please enjoy it and wear it in good health! To everyone who is considering dealing with Jason: I can't praise him enough, he's a true gentleman and a joy to communicate with. You will not be disappointed! One more thing: On the ABC ww bill, the non-cyclop crystal is marked with 25-295 - not sure if anybody can find out, if Rolex supplies genuine non-cyclop crystals (which was my impression) or if the crystal was initially offered for a different watch |

Looks fantastic!
After owning some watches with undersized & difficult to operate crowns, There is something to having full access to the crown that is so satisfying.
