If you had to have one watch from an independent brand what would ıt be?

Except for Patek or AP.

I'd like to get a Moser Perpetual fume dial. But the current market makes such a proposition slim.

Lots of good options here. This one is a value play for an independent.

Like locutus49 said above, a Reverso. A beautiful watch and a landmark in watch history. But, in some ways, it is not enough because it doesn't begin to scratch the surface of what JLC can do.

Still, a Reverso.

Rm is nice but not what I think of first as an independent as they are so unconventional.

The fp journe line has some special offerings but for a simple all class timeless beautiful watch my choice would be a Laurent ferrier, the hands alone sell the watch for me.

Greubel Forsey, RM, Journe, MB&F, Urwerk I know they are a little too original for some and I agree that they are not made to be in a small collection, but if I had the funds to have 15-20 of my favorite watches ever made, I would definitely want one in the collection, anyways there are so many independents to choose from all is a matter of taste, but I would love to have 1 from each of the 5 brands I cited

Dufour - Simplicity

A more reasonable indie watch - Sarpaneva, because of the unconventional look

I'm struggling to think of just one, as there are quite a number of worthy contenders.
Without limiting cost, then the one foremost in my mind would be MCT's S200.

At a more 'sensible' cost, the Pierre DeRoche Grandcliff Royal Retro has a lot of appeal.

But that's not forgetting the likes of Christophe Claret, Lehmann, Pierre Kunz, Christopher van Der Klauw, Grönefeld, Lang & Heyne, Pequignet, Habring, Zeitwinkel, Masahiro Kikuno, Sarpaneva, Hajime Asaoka, Bremont, McGonigle, Speake-Marin...the list is practically endless.

I saw a programme recently and the brothers who own Bremont were on it. They seemed like good guys, living life for today and to the full, and they seemed to offer a friendly, personal service.

I think Swatch have a stake in Greubel Forsey so that ruled them out for me, nothing to do with their prices
