1986 DJ 16000 with smooth bezel / linen dial
A while back I bought a DJ 16000 from ~1986 (no B/P, but from a reputable shop). I loved the smooth bezel coupled with the texture/linen dial. But recently someone told me that the 16000 didn't come with a texture dial and smooth bezel, so either the dial or bezel was swapped. I dont really care as I like it like that. But wondering if any views or anyone has one original like this.

I had a DJ from 1986 had an engine turned bezel. Believe they only came with engine turned and fluted. Mine was a 16030.
Not a big smooth bezel fan, but that one looks great on your timepiece. |

16000 actually denotes a polished bezel. What clown told you otherwise?
16030 = engine turned bezel 16014 = fluted bezel in white metal. All with 3035 calibre movement and acrylic glass. Haywood Milton

Thanks for the clarification Haywood Milton. I may have misunderstood the guy as it was a casual conversation in a watch shop, after he asked me about this watch. He may have said 16000 -with flat bezel- never had a linen dial. (When I briefly googled images of the 16000 and looked on chrono24 it seemed like there were fluted versions.). Anyway, now I know at least the bezel is correct! Still not clear on these denotations. Learning thanks to you and this forum. So Thanks !
But I have yet to see a picture of a 16000 with a linen dial so that part remains open. 1600 yes, but not 16000. |
