Never really realized how often I looked at the date on my watch until wearing 116520

I've been wearing my Daytona on and off for a few weeks now, rotating between the 116520 and a 116710.

It's just an observation the things you don't think about until you realize how much you rely on it.

The lack of date on my Daytona keeps me reaching for the GMT.

Anyone else?

But it looks so good. You have your cell phone for the date. Enjoy the watch.

Never bothered me, you'll soon get use to it not having a date

That happened to me quite often on my Omega Speedmaster and Rolex Explorers (114270, 214270). Don't have yet a Daytona, guess will be hard to guess used to the lack of date!

How often does one need to reference the date? The main regular occurrence I find myself checking for date is when filling out withdrawal/deposit slip in a branch.

YEP... me too, had one, love it, but got rid of it because like having the date... then tried the YMII, and same thing, ended up getting rid of that one too, same reason...you are not alone..

Chaps

When you rise in the morning, look at your phone and take note of the date and remember it.

If you cannot remember the date, arrange an appointment with your doctor and do it fast. This is assuming you can remember the name of your doctor.

Mick,

Some of us destroyed our short term memory with booze and mj.

In all seriousness it did bother me a touch with my 1815 but not nearly as much as I anticipated. Not a deal breaker for me

Wristwatches came into being as a convenience, and I love having a quick date reference on my wrist. I also use the timing bezel on my Sub almost daily for various chores, even though I could just remember where the minute hand starts instead. GMT users could probably just remember time offsets or use their cellphone, etc...

Start the chronograph and stop it on the day of the month. Your Daytona now has a date

Three of my watches have dates and two don't. I wear them interchangeably and don't really care much about the date. Nice to have, but I prefer chronos without.

The staples of my collection have been a 14060 and a 3570.50 for so many years that I'm conditioned to not having the date on my watch. Luckily, the upper right corner of my computer monitor has the date and time.

Icon10 Have to agree

My 116520 is the only one in my rotation that doesn't have a date.

So when I have it on, I do have the occasional "date glance hangover"

But as someone said earlier, "it looks so good" on the wrist.

The one thing I miss about the old Seiko SKX007 that I gave my buddy was that it not only had the date, but also the day of the week. I still miss that a little bit.

I check my watch often for the date throughout the day. Last Thursday I checked even though it was my Birthday!! Talk about a habit...

Yes, and it was/is fun.

Meanwhile in the last year it's become a moot point for me. Can't see the bloody date anymore.

Yeah, the whole date thing is important to me, too.

That's why I'm placing a self-imposed limit of no more than one chronograph (without the date) in my collection. Well...maybe two.

OK...absolutely no more than three...I'm drawing the line there.

I've sold a couple no date watches even though I liked the look. I sign and date frequently throughout the day and don't carry my cell phone when I'm seeing patients so I use the date feature. I might make an exception for the Daytona C white dial however 😊

My fear of buying a Daytona exactly.

Looks great but no date.

Today is my birthday and I even looked at my watch this morning to check the date.

If that does not tell you how important that one bit of information from your watch is; I don't know what does...
