Everyone deserves a trial, he might not have stolen it. Value and brand of watch is not relevant because it's wrong to steal anything from anyone.

I have all the respect for EMT, Nurses, doctors, really anybody helping selflessly other people in need, but once you cross that line of trust by assaulting people at their lowest point in life you're truly ""(i can't put this in words here, too nice of a forum). Hope they find the watch, who did it and can present this as a heirloom to the kids.

Have you been to Italy? I have many times. Northern is not too bad, yet Southern Italy is a different story. Of course all generalizations are wrong, yet some facts remain.

Oh com'on, first of all Rome is hardly 'the south' and second it's no where near as bad as you make it seem. I am Italian as you may have guessed by now, and am in Italy on a regular basis. There sure are places which are less safe than others, but which country doesn't have those. Anyway, I have felt way more unsafe in Miami or some areas of NYC than any place I've been to in Italy.

On another note, anyone noticed how small that Sub look on that massive wrist? He was truly a great actor. Sad thing he passed and even worse this watch thing happened.

He may not have taken it as we do not know when it went missing. When someone dies, their jewellery and possessions are removed for 'safe keep' and held for the next of kin. Not read the story but does it say anywhere that the watch was lifted in front of someone?

Yes, we don't know what happened in what would have been an atmosphere of confusion and some panic. Best not to assume some paramedic doing his job must be guilty.
And again, a bit tough on the Italian medical people who may have done everything possible. I wouldn't rely on a newspaper report for something like this.
What it made me think was that life is fragile and fleeting. Who cares about a watch.

I knew someone who lost a Submariner around 1983 the same way, he even remembered the first responder taking it off his wrist but was too incapacitated by the accident to stop it. I often tik of that watch due to the fact that it looked well worn even i 1983, the bezel was faded etc. I thought it looked crappy at the time, probability worth a small fortune today.

Well said, my family are from the Abruzz.... in the mountains between Rome and Naples and like you I've felt more unsafe in South Beach Miami & L.A. than Rome & the East End of London where I grew up.
