Wanted to get some input from TRF. I know this is the AP section, so I might get a biased result, but here it is.

I'm looking at picking up a minimal piece to put into the rotation. Something you would wear almost on a daily basis.

I've been looking at the Rolex DSSD D-Blue and the AP Diver with white dial. The DSSD James Cameron just gets my attention for some reason. I've never been a big Rolex guy, but this one really sings to me. I do have an Explorer 2 that I rotate in every once in a while.

On the other hand, the AP Diver with White dial ahs always been of interest to me. I'm thinking I can add a white strap during the summer and would add some versatility. My only concern is this would be a 3rd ROO to my collection. I already have a ROO 44 in FC and RG. Should I venture away from the ROO line this time around and get something different?

Based on your current collection I would go with the DSSD -- it's a very enjoyable reference and can definitely be worn daily - I wore mine daily for quite some time.

I really didn't think I would be saying this anytime soon because I am so focused on AP now but I would go with the Rolex if I were you. Only because you already have three top-notch APs already.

I vote D-Blue as well on this one. I loved the white Diver when I had it, but some variety would probably be a good thing.

Being partial to the Offshore over the Diver I'd also vote DeepSea. My ROO has the steel band (OEM rubber with deployment incoming) and a few weeks ago I tried on a DSSD, it was leagues more comfortable on the wrist.

I actually wouldn't mind having a James Cameron to add to the rotation.

Totally agreed with Patton250. Although I love the Diver, but diversity in your collection is not a bad idea!!

Rolex never makes a tribute to a man or an event, this makes the D-blue special.
Moreover, it is a testament to man's insatiable thirst for exploration and curiosity. It is the engine the propels mankind. The symbolic meaning behind the watch should make this an easy choice.

And yes it's my favourite watch so of course I am biased.

Thanks for the input guys! Looks like the D Blue is the choice up to this point. I'm on a list at a couple of the local AD's to call me when one comes in for me to try.

I'm not a big fan of the Rolex. That model to me, has too be a case head for such a small bracelet and I don't think it would be comfy. What about a regular sub of the gmt ii or dark knight. If AP, I use my 15719 daily but you could try a ro or roc to switch that up.

It's actually extremely comfortable, sits pretty on the wrist and the titanium back makes this watch surprisingly light for its size.

I had both, I only kept one, I thought having two SS divers in my collection was a it much as many of my other pieces are sport pieces. I kept the DSSD. Though, I am liking the FC diver or Ceramic diver as of late, and there is enough of a visual appearance to keep the DSSD.

The DS is very comfy and I would urge the OP to get that. I'm getting a Cameron DS and it was that or an AP diver and I opted for the Rolex.

Go with the white Diver. I wouldn't worry about having another ROO beside your 44 mm FC and RG. I don't think it would be a duplication at all.

Im very happy with the DSSD, I like it even better with the rubber strap. I know the Diver is a very good option but I wouldnt go with it if I had those 44's. Hope I helped and good luck making that decision
