PCL Frustration.
I just came back from a business trip and I took my BLNR because it is a nice mixture of dressy/sporty.
A day into conferences, I checked it in the hotel's safety deposit room and wore a Casio I bought from the gift shop for the rest of the week. This is the second BLNR I own and I've always worn it on special occasions. As it turns out, worn in real life scenarios I cannot stand the amount of scratches the PCLs will pick up on a single wear. I don't want to get rid of the watch a second time so I have a few options: 1: Brush the BLNR bracelet 2: Black Everest for the BLNR 3: Black Everest for Hulk and put bracelet on BLNR 4: Sell the thing because clearly I am not mature enough to let scratches go Thanks again for helping me out! PCL's look great on a watch but I'm OCD and can not stand the amount of scratches that they get. I would brush the bracelet. You still get the scratches but it won't drive you crazy and once or twice a year you can go over the bracelet with a scotchbrite pad and make it look new again.

5th option that I'm doing once I get is to buy a 97200 bracelet that comes off a ceramic sub and replace with the easylink GMT bracelet. This of course will give you the brushed bracelet you want and allows you to put the easylink back on if you come to sell. I got the bracelet for £1400 from my local AD without any issues. You will also have the glidelock function on the bracelet which I feel is far superior than the easylink.

I put my SubC on a NATO and the glide lock on the BLNR and have not looked back since... BLNR bracelet is wrapped up and safe. But before I made the switch the PCL really were the only thing that I was not in love with on the BLNR.

Told myself this would be the case when I bought it the second time !
I now must figure out creative ways to enjoy the watch. Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk

In theory, this doesn't sound like a bad idea but that's a very steep price. I'd have to figure out if that's worth it for me. Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk

If money is an issue you could sell the easylink bracelet if you choose to, they demand high prices on here and would probably get close to the price of a glidelock. I just like the idea of having the original bracelet in case a better watch comes out and most people want original and you'll have less wear on the easylink.

If you do decide to get a glidelock just remember you'll have to use the spring bars that are on the GMT and not the ones for the Sub as they are different and will annoy the hell out of you trying to fit.

I love the BLNR but have held off buying because of the PCLs. Either brushing the bracelet or going with an Everest strap are great ideas.

I would go for the Everest first as it's the cheapest option. Also, don't forget you already have a sub bracelet, don't hesitate to throw it on the BLNR from time to time. Spend 200 on a proper bracelet removal tool and you're good to go!

Agree with this even if you don't change bracelets too often I would get a good tool to remove and replace the spring bars. I found getting them off wasn't too bad but putting them back in was a pain. I find using springbar tweezers the best.

PCL Frustration.
PCL bothered me a lot when i owned GMTIIc so i had to get rid of. Ever since, as i get older and etc, it stopped bothering me at all. All Rolexes i own right now are PCLs.
So my advice is to give some time and try other things before you get rid of it. Cheers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have an Everose Daytona which is over 6 months old. It doesn't have a single scratch, buff, swirl, or other annoying issue.
I only wear the watch to enjoy its flashing colors and pristine surfaces. It remains that way since I only wear the watch with short sleeve shirts, never let the watch touch anything while wearing it, and only wear the watch occasionally. This approach lets me experience an effectively brand new watch when I do put it on. When I handle it, I use nitrile goves to avoid any oil from my fingers getting onto the watch. Once the watch is on, I remove the gloves and enjoy the experience. That way there is never a need to clean the watch and possible scratch it. I realize that some people will think I am being ridiculous. Thats OK. Its my watch and my life and that is how I want to enjoy my watch .... which I do. I have a Sea Dweller which I used to worry about and would examine it in detail at the end of each day. I finally got over that and take the attitude that marks it picks up chronicle my life experiences. With the Sea Dweller, I've found that the minor scratches and swirls don't affect the visual experience of the watch. The Daytona is a different experience for me and knowing it is flawless is a big deal. |

Maybe you should forget about a GMT2c and go with a 16710.

Cheapest and easiest option is to simply brush the bracelet. This is what I did to my LN and I have been quite pleased. Scratches and smudges are barely visible and easily removed if I think I have to.
The next easiest and cheapest is to buy a strap. I also considered a black leather or alligator from Everest. What stopped me was that my GMT is my daily wearer and I prefer the durability of a metal bracelet. I'm not a NATO fan either. The best option, IMO, if you don't mind spending the $$ is to source a Sub bracelet with glidelock or perhaps a jubilee. Then put your PCL bracelet away for the day you might sell your BLNR.

Rubber it or get rid of it.
Or brush. Lots of options.
