Hopefully that extra special deal is a 10% discount on the purchase... Consider the amount of money that AD has made off of you they should give you the watch for free:)

This happened to me by my old AD. "You're next!." "You're next!"
Uh-huh. This went on for a year and a half until a disgruntled fired ex employee of the AD that I ran into at the gym told me that many SS Daytonas went out the back door while I was getting stroked being told that I was "next." I was done talking to the manager. I demanded to talk to the owner. I had spent myself in there and referred well over $100,000. So I was "penciled in" to meet with him at 3:00. Smug chap as our brothers across the pond say. Didn't stand up when I walked in. Just leaned back in his reclining office chair. This made me go from firm and adamant to you "smug silver spoon in mouth never had a real world job, disrespectful no class punk." He had inherited the AD from his father. Probably early thirties. Never shook my hand. I started the conversation by telling him that I knew that this was private property and he could ask me to leave anytime he wanted but I was going to get a few things off my chest." At the time I was a cop so I didn't want to get an IA beef over me losing my cool with him. I laid into him, politely, he made excuses and told me the ex-employee was disgruntled and had been fired and was making this all up. I then meticulously laid down who I knew the 3 SS Daytonas had gone to while I was "next." What colors the dials were even. Him. Silence. I told him he had one month to get me a SS Daytona or he would never see me again or my wallet or any referrals. I "got the call" about 10 days later. They would not let me leave the store without having something engraved on the back. I had my initials engraved. That store and the sister store have since gone out of business. Don't let the AD play you. I got played. I'll never get caught up in the SS Daytona hype again. |

My friend also fell for the daytona hype, when I showed him hundreds of daytonas for sale on chrono24 website his eyes almost fell out. |

In the meantime, it would be cool for the OP to show photos of the PM and PPs he has recently bought-a nice distraction while everybody is waiting for an outcome???

As I've already said earlier - the OP's ire is understandable. But some of the later posts brought me back.
Do we expect special treatment because I did this or that for you to deserve it...or "you promised me"? Well here's the thing...we're not so special when the pool is wide and deep at an AD. We're a customer among thousands of others. For each of us who spent $X over Y years, there's bound to be someone who spent twice that over double the years. That's where a trusted TRF seller is better IMHO. The OP didn't rant or rave - so not aiming this his way - but I hope this little story I just wove helps illuminate a possible sign that some of us may have a "Sense Of Entitlement" complex Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'm not sure what all of this "chatting" after the fact accomplishes....
They KNEW you would always buy, but saved the first piece for that opportunity sale that randomly walks in the door. Ergo.... TWO sales.....not that complicated.... Actions....not words speak louder in business.... This is not a marriage where you might stay up all night "discussing" things with your spouse. Vote with your feet if it truly bothers you.... Personally it wouldn't bother me because I don't get caught up in Rolex's "exclusive-marketing-scarcity program..... I just buy watches I like....and those that are NOT so popular.....and I can usually survive the wait time if I order one. |

AD lied, Daytona C madness...
Something to consider... maybe each sales rep has their own waiting list. This is how they make their money after all isn't it? I was a manager for T-Mobile at one point and each of my sales reps had their own waiting lists for when the new iPhone came out...yes I know it's much different then a Daytona C, but along the same lines. My Reps would take turns as they came in, and it might be the same way in many AD's.
I don't know who told you that you were #1, but maybe you really are...on their list 😬👍🏼 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Me either. In fact, a few years ago, when the SS were supposedly "hard to get" my AD never had an issue getting one in. Same goes for the BLNR or any other Rolex I can think of. I probably waited a total of two weeks for my Platona. As for the new Daytona, I have no clue, mainly because I don't plan on purchasing one. I believe there is a strong demand for this new reference, but I wonder outside of the WIS world, just how much demand there truly is. I can remember a similar hype about the RG YM not to mention the SubC LV, the BLNR or the Deep Blue.

If the watch gets to the display and a walk-in comes, they'll sell it to the walk-in. They won't lose that sale. You are in the waiting list already so you can afford to wait a few weeks more. They won't tell you, but you caught them red hand. Move to another AD.
