Transfer of watch ownership
Hi guys, I bought a preowned AP ROO from a grey dealer and the watch was registered by the previous owner. May I know if I am able to register the watch and get AP to update my name as a new owner.
Thank you for all your inputs. |

you should be of course, for Patek you go on their website and register giving movement and dial number if I remember correctly, where it was first purchased with the date, more than sure AP does the same thing, maybe not through website though, you may need to send them an email, but take a look on their site

Just call APSC and tell them that you now own the watch. They can update the records

I had checked with APSC, sadly they do not allow changing of ownership from their database. Only the 1st owner gets to register the watch in their database. For the subsequent owners who send in the watch for servicing, the receipt will bear the name of the person who sent in the watch.

That's exactly my thought too. I cannot change the name for my preowned timepiece and maybe I should email their head office direct.

I've had second hand watches serviced no problem and even under warranty and my name was in the system and on the receipt.
They might only keep the name of the original person that purchased it new when it comes to their VIP list for special events, trips, gifts, other perks, etc. |
