Rolex Oysterquartz 17000 help
Hi all I'm planning on purchasing this 1977 Rolex oysterquartz with a serial number starting with 536xxxx, I have purchased from this dealer on chrono24 before and had a very good experience with them, his shop is called Plus Watch and is located in Italy, the watch looks great I just need to know if anyone has any objection about purchasing this particular watch and if anything looks wrong with the watch, thank you all in advance for your help.
Here are some pictures Thank you all again and I look forward to your replies. |

I would expect an OQ 17000 with 5.3 mil serial (and at that price) to have a MKI dial.

Highly likely. I used to have a MK I dial (5.2 mil) and did a lot of looking around to try and ascertain the serial range for this type. The earliest/latest I found were 5.2/5.8. That box in the ad probably didn't come with the watch, either.

Yes the watch doesn't even come with papers, does the dial look ok in your opinion? I haven't sent that specific dial before myself the Rolex crown is just touching the minute markers.

It's hard to say for sure from the pics, but I would skip this one. I recently sold a 17000 with MKI dial and recent RSC service papers (vital really in an OQ, IMO) for less than they are asking for this one.

Thank you for your advice I'll stay away from this one, that was great help, there are quite a few ads on chrono24 for this watch but I'm really unsure which dealer I can trust. Do you have any suggestions a different website perhaps, thanks again.

Try watchrecon.com. And research any seller. Good luck!
