Hour hand bent, Day Date
Home how the hour hand on my Day Date got bent. I took it to a local watch sales and repair place that is really reputable. They said they need to service the whole watch in order to replace the hour hand. Does anyone know if I can just get the hands replaced somewhere else or does the whole watch need to be serviced. They said it would take 4-6 weeks. I rather not be without my watch for that long.

You should be able to take it have hands replaced. Look for a watch repair shop that works on ROLEX watches. Where I live there are quite a few repair shops that service and work on ROLEX without having to do a full service with 1+ day turnaround time.

I would expect that they would want to overhaul the watch to determine how an hour hand could get bent.

For the life of me I can't imagine how the hour hand got bent?!
Could it be that they looked at the watch and suspect there's something wrong with the movement that's why they suggest a movement full service? Replacing the hand is easy enough I could probably do it in less than 30 minutes even though I'm no watch smith...it's what caused the hand bending that worries me. a watch is meant to be worn |

How old is it? Have you got a photo? Have you considered sending it to RSC in Dallas for service?

Someone else reported a spontaneously bent hand here or on the Omega forum.
Someone is misusing their telekinetic powers!

It doesn't usually take that long.. Give the Dallas RSC a call and ask how the back-log is. Send it direct !!
