Once again, 1st Rolex...1974

I'll give this one another try.
Here's my first Rolex, a 1500 series in Placor, a plated watch bought with some savings of a summer job as a janitor in a municipal hospital during my college years. I had many very menial jobs as a youth, lessons from my Dad.
Now, I wish I had bought a SS model.

Bygones are bygones. Don't know much about "Placor" but it's a nice watch, and the dial looks very interesting!

Do you have any more info on the placor designation? Is it..gold plated?

Placor is Gold Plated

Yes, it was a plated style available at the time. I had a choice between a stainless steel or placor, and since I liked yellow better, picked it. Sometime in the early 80's, I think, Rolex stopped making these.
