First on the list!

Yesterday I found myself first on the list - but it was a very different list. Not the new Daytona or Deepsea Blue, I was first on the list for an operation after I collapsed suddenly last Tuesday and had a fit.

I'm a 26 year old guy with no history of medical problems. In fact the last time I saw the inside of a hospital I was only 7 or 8 years old (I cut my leg open and needed stitches). I always thought I was invincible, nothing could ever stop me. I was wrong. After a really tough quarter in work and two years without a holiday; stress, anxiety, exhaustion and dehydration all caught up with me. One minute I was taking a leak, the next minute I woke up in the back of an ambulance.

Next time someone tells me to enjoy my watches in good health, I'll stop and think a little where I would not have done so before. I really like my GMTs, but they pale in comparison to those I love, and of course my health!

Don't fret if you're not number one on the list for your desired time piece - or if saving for your grail is taking longer than anticipated. Let's all be thankful for our health and those we love.

Yep health is priceless and number one. This is why I strive for a healthy lifestyle with my entire family because usually the consequences come much later in life from abuses in youth. Take care of yourself and enjoy life.

Wish you well. We sometimes forget that these watches are a luxury and there are more important basic things in life. But hey, always look on the bright side. Since you were taking a leak, at least your weren't found with your junk out in pee-soaked pants with your watch missing.
