What business would you start?
This is for people who already own a business or would like to start one. If you had the option to start your own business today what would it be? Just curious to know what people would do.

Here are my top choices....
But....at my age....I'll stick to the Aircraft Engine business....because it's the only thing I know and it's worked out well. |

Own a chain of bakeries and strategically place them next to medical marijuana clinics.

create an international cult devoted to the preservation & worship of all things Rolex-related...oh wait, that's already been done.
OK...maybe open a Baskin-Robbins or Haagen-Daz store next to Wesley Crusher's bakery. |

If i could do anything I wanted and be successful I would love to open up a vintage/second hand watch shop.
I love all watches not just Rolex and to do something like this would be awesome. Unfortunately I do not have the time or the extra resources to think about it lol. |

My 19 yo son just finished his freshman year of college, after his senior year of high school he started researching the high-guality whole leaf tea business in U.S. He has lined up suppliers for tea and accessories, started a website and has begun gorilla marketing.
His next step is to get professional logo and packaging, he is talking to firms now and getting quotes. He started his business up with less than $1,000, but to get logo/packaging it will cost considerable sums so mom and dad will likely pay up and take small piece of business so he understands truly how to build business. I won't get into his product and service differentiator but the tea is best of best sourced from small family estates around the world. He did his own website here: http://theteacellar.com BTW, not sure if this will end of being interesting experiment or not but he is learning a lot about business. Chuck |

Doesn't that mean you'd have to work?

I would open my own urgent care clinic. I love working in urgent care and it is very much about fast, friendly, quality service for a reasonable price. I think urgent care clinics are helping with the health care crisis. People can pay cash and get taken care of if they can't afford insurance and most insurance coverage is accepted.

Bowling alley.
Dry Cleaners. Laundromat. And my personal favorite: car wash/detail/oil change center. I think each, with the right management and location are easy money makers. Easy.

I totally agree with you. My wife had some health challenges over the past two years. There is an urgent care clinic just three blocks from our house and they became familiar with her issues. They knew whether to give her an IV and send her home or whether she needed admitting to a hospital. In the latter case, she could wait at the clinic in comfortable surroundings until her room at the hospital was ready. That kind of local care is a real godsend. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thank you. I worked in a regular office for 18 years as a Nurse Practitioner. Last year I left my ENT position after 10 years. I love urgent care. I love being able to take care of patients with minimal interference from an administration or a manager. The staffing profile is a provider, xray tech, nurse and registration person. No fighting, no drama, its really great and the patient's respond positively 99% of the time. I love my job and my patients!

I don't think I want my own business per se. I think managing your investment is the only business I want to be involved in when I really retire.

A drum and percussion store. This is what I'd like to do after I retire. I will later expand to a drum studio providing drum lessons for all ages (basic, intermediate, advanced). There will be a main "hall" where the students can give a performance or recital. Or, I could just retire in Havana and come home every two years or so.

I love the idea of my own business but have no idea what it would be. Certainly something lucrative that can be done at a genteel potter. Perhaps a private members club for WIS and pen enthusiasts...
