My man, I opened my first yoga studio in 2007. By 2014 I had a total of 3 and I was looking to open more.

I have been teaching yoga since 1998 (I stopped teaching after I sold).

I ended up getting super lucky and a bigger company came in and gave me an offer I could not refuse. Well, it did not go exactly like that, but that is how it ended up.

Anyway, it is a shockingly difficult business. Tons of competition, a huge amount of different personalities when dealing with the teachers and staff, Groupon studios offering options of $2 classes and new studios opening up all the time. And CRAZY customers.

It was very rewarding in certain ways. And I loved it for a long time. It was very disheartening in others.

The tough part was taking a passion that I truly believed in, and made it a business. To some degree, it surely ruined the passion I had for it.

But again, also super rewarding in a lot of ways....and especially when done correctly and for the right reasons.

My wife is still in the industry. It really is shockingly difficult to get ahead. If you ever want to discuss, I would be happy to go further into my own experiences. I would love to help out however I could.

I own an escape room, we opened in 2014. Later I would like to deal in second hand watches/vintage cars or open my own diving center, something like that...

I sink like a rock because I'm dense as all hell, but I'd love to open an aquatic center that was able to accommodate, athletic, therapeutic, and recreational activities.....and rowing of course. That said, the cost to even start to build an olympic pool is around $500k.....soooo....

My number one desire would be to breed and raise Welsh Pembroke Corgis....
But I'm afraid I couldn't pull myself to sell any of them....so not much of a business model.

I've been to the one in Westfield, NJ when my sister lived there. It's pretty cool. Pool table, girls to cut/wash hair/shave. Beer tap and lockers for whiskey.
I'd like to add to their idea where you could make it a cigar lounge with TV's etc. kind of make it a men's club/cigar and whiskey bar/barbershop.
I belong to a country club and a racquet club now, but if something like the above existed I'd join in a heartbeat and probably never leave!

Being in the business here in the UK, I have seen the rise of the Barbering industry. The problem as with other service industries is the cost to run. You need 'hi-end' premises which aren't cheap and there is definitely a limit to the amount men are willing to pay compared to women who have so many add-ons. Here in London, we've seen a number come and go pretty quickly.
