The forum has spoken: 233 is still by far the most favourite here, and perhaps everywhere.

I like my 233 dot. It has just returned from the spa and is looking brand new. It was good to get it back on the wrist after it has been tended to by the Panerai doctors.

I had it fixed for the 3rd time: this time it leaked after getting splashed (yes only slashed at a wash basin! It's a freakin' dive watch!). 4800HKD for a full service.

Indeed.

I have learned my lesson: never buy a watch with a new unproven movement. Wait until it's been on the market a few years and they lock down the long term issues.

I'm sure the 233 movement is fairly bullet proof now.
