197's movement is nice, but 231's clean lines do more for me.

I'd have to say 231 just on looks and thinness. If you want gold, look at 289 also.

PAM289 is Luminor, I'm looking at Radiomir. Too bad I can't find the correct info to compare the thickness of both models.
As far as I could find info on the net the 197 should be 15.2 mm and the 231 13.5 mm thick, but I don't know if that info is correct. If this is correct the 231 is the same thickness as the 643. |

197. I prefer to have a seconds hand but the 231 does look 'cleaner'.

Although 197 has a seconds feature, I don't like its dial. I prefer the cleaner look of 231's dial.
