The AD rang....Air King is mine!
Purchased a # of new Rolex this year but none have impressed me as much as the New Air King. I was skeptical about the dial but was totally sold on it upon seeing it in the metal. I think it's a winner.
Ad also gave me what supposedly is extremely rare. Apparently each ad only received 2-3 copies of the "Rolex Way" book Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I just went and tried one on yesterday. The AD had ordered it for another patron but allowed me to see it before they picked it up. I absolutely loved it. I am supposed to call them today and let them know if they should order one for me or if I am going to choose the new Explorer instead. I have been really skeptical because so many are saying they don't like the Air King's dial. I find that ironic really, as this is exactly why I like it so much. I like that Rolex is trying some new things. I love that they are really offering a pilot style watch to compliment their many divers style offerings. I love the minute markers on the dial and the use of color. I think your post has pretty much made my mind up for me. Thank you so much for sharing. When mine comes in, I hope nobody will mind me sharing as well! I will be so proud since it will be my first new Rolex.

Congrats on the new watch. Sort of a weird side question, but did you partially shave your arm?

Congrats
Just goes to show how personal choosing a time piece is. I was at an AD today to try on a few DJ2's and he brought out the new Air King (which was also sold) to show me. Took one look at it and instantly disliked it. The mixture of raised 3-6-9 markers and printed 5-10-20-25(etc) markers just looks wrong. In my opinion the dial should be printed around the entire circumference. Enjoy your new watch tho' |
