AD reasonable or not?

So, back in late December I asked to be put on the waiting list for a BLNR at my local AD. They confirmed in writing.

Yesterday I got a bit impatient. I wrote an email where I asked if this it was normal to wait in excess of secen months. I also noted that I have seen shops with no waiting for the BLNR in three different other countries.

The AD called me that same evening to let me know that they had in fact just got a BLNR that they could sell me without further waiting.

Now, I may be jaded, but that sounded like a crock to me.

Am I being unreasonable?
I honestly feel like doing my business in a different country now.

Just my thoughts; get yourself over there and just buy it. It is where you been waiting for all the time. Just get it, and maybe never do business with this particular AD again.

Sounds like they needed a reminder that you were out there looking for one. Your email was probably just at the right time.

As long as you sill want that watch go get it. Maybe your AD will feel a little guilty and give you something off. Let us know how you make out?

You might have been lost in the shuffle but I'd just go and get it. You've waited this long.

It's just business, or lack of, on the part of the AD. It's not personal, go get your watch and enjoy it.

I suspect that many of these retail stores don't really keep close watch on their "waiting list" and just do it to appease the prospective buyer. I agree that it is a bad business practice, but it is what it is.

Anyway, to the OP, go ahead and buy the watch and enjoy it!

Who cares.

You are getting what you want.

Sounds unreasonable, borderline silly and self sabotaging if you delay.

You have been thinking about this watch for seven months. They haven't been thinking about you for seven months. Don't take it personally. If they had the watch at the exact time you emailed them about it I'd call that perfect timing.

This is very true, in one occasion I walked in to a AD and bought a DSSD-blue and in another occasion in another AD a DSSD-blue was in the display cabinet available for sale.

Question is when the new stock arrived to the AD, are they obliged to display them or hide them in the safe and call the people on the wait list?

To the OP, buy it and enjoy it!

Pick it up ASAP. Then move on from them. Maybe their sticky note with the list was lost.

Is it a crock--probably.

Will he care if you take your business elsewhere--no.

If you want the watch go buy it.

If you rather not give him your $$ take it elsewhere--not a super hard watch to find.

Enjoy!
