It's Here!!!!
Hi everyone!
I just had to share that my very first, brand new beautiful and perfect DJ is here. I got my dream watch for a big birthday coming up, midsize DJ, SS black diamond dial, and jubilee band today, and just got back from my local AD to have it sized. I am beyond the beyonds! I can't stop staring at my wrist! I will take pics and post them soon. I want to thank all of you who gave this newbie advice and help, but most of all to Tempoking, a member here, who was able to get this watch for me, answer all my questions, have patience with me as well being that this is my first Rolex, and was able to get the best price that I saw on two continents! He is the best! (Now my husband is thinking of getting one, and he had no interest until this baby came in!) I am so happy and excited, just grinning like a little kid! Best to you all! Leigh |

Thanks everyone! Forgot my digital camera here on vacation, (so dumb!) but as soon as I get back to Berlin next week I will post pics, probably still will a silly grin on my face staring at my wrist. :-)

Thanks Quicksilver/David
I love the Jubilee bracelet. I love the classic elegance and the slightly dressier, but still sporty look. I am a woman with very small wrists, just about 5 inches, and the Jubilee bracelet doesn't overpower me, it's sleek design just looks great on my wrist, if I may say so. :-) I tried on the Oyster bracelet as well, but just wasn't for me, I guess it's just a personal choice, I have a friend with a larger wrist then I, and the Oyster bracelet looks great on her. BTW, still grinning! Leigh |

I can't wait to see the pictures... This sounds like a possible option for my wife. She needs midsize DJ - she also has little wrists. Looking forward to it! Congratulations and Happy Birthday!

That's awesome Leigh, getting your dream watch is a huge buzz. Too cool and to think that you got it from one of the top guys around these parts, that's a bonus

you must feel like a million bucks! 2 million in today's market actually, but I just wanted to congratulate you on your new watch! So did ya pick it out or did your husband get the hint and got you one? Please do tell.

Thanks Steve, I am still smiling like crazy, only take the watch off to shower and sleep, and our Tempoking is the best!
Dalton, I will tell you, I picked out the watch myself, tried on many, researched for months, (got so much help from TRF members!) and have wanted a Datejust for almost 20 years. I also bought the watch for myself with money I had made doing some concert (I'm an opera singer) recently. My husband could have bought it for me, and I'm sure he would have, but I had immense satisfaction doing this myself. (It really is "our money" anyway) I remember finishing grad school and buying myself a watch, it looked like a Tag Heuer, but was much less expensive, at that time it was a huge purchase for me, around 300 dollars :-). I saw all of these beautiful Rolex watches, and I couldn't even bring myself to ask if I could try one on, felt like it was so out of my league. So buying on for myself has an enormous meaning for me, I could do this alone, as an adult woman with a great career she created, working hard and being able to reward herself. The feeling was, and still is, amazing. :-) So Dalton, I hope that answers your questions, and thanks for letting me share my little story. Best! Leigh |

Leigh, congratulations on your new watch. The members here are great and your story just confirms it. I can't wait for your wrist shot, please post soon. Till then, I will have to keep my Miss Jody away from your thread, lest she get an idea for a new watch too.

Wow Leigh an Opera Singer, that is a very challenging career, and Rolex and Opera go hand in hand with there being some very famous opera singers who have been sponsored by Rolex e.g. Dame Kiri Takanawa

Yes, being an opera singer and wearing a Rolex are indeed compatible, perhaps one day they will sponsor me as well! In the mean time I have my beautiful DJ which I sponsored myself, and I feel just great!
FYI, here is my website, if anyone has any interest, you can hear sound clips from me, see photos, etc. I need to update it, which I will do when I get back form vacation. Hope you all like it! www.leighadoff.com Best, Leigh |
