It's back from RSC!!!
At the end of May, I sought "guesses" and suggestions about the cost of fixing my Sub/Date, damaged in a motorcycle accident
http://www.rolexforums.com/showthrea...ight=grinchcop and the update: http://www.rolexforums.com/showthrea...cop#post668423 Well, it finally returned home on Monday, 4 weeks and 1 day after RSC received it. The watch looks brand new and it now only gains about 2-3 seconds a day (versus the 12+ seconds per day it had been gaining since I bought it). RSC was able to save the bezel by very skillfull polishing and only 2 very tiny marks are visible (if you use a loupe). That saved me a few hundred bucks, even though it would have been easier for them (and more profitable) simply to charge me for a new bezel. Although the service ($550), the crystal ($150), the crown and bezel insert ($100), plus tax/shipping set me back quite a bit, it looks just like it did when I took it out of the box for the first time. I think I'll keep it in the saddlebags when I ride now.... John |

WTB pics!!
Interesting threads, a tale of great watch drama, with a happy reunion at the end. I give them 4/5 stars. I especially liked how the protagonist felt such honor toward his duty to contribute 8% to the state coffers -- a true patriot if ever there was one. |

Don't worry about the little visible marks, they are war wounds and give it character! J |

With pics
Okay, this is what it looks like now...sorta. After taking the pics, I realized that fingerprints, lint and poor lighting simply don't do it justice. The thing is flawless!
