Need a recommendation for a GREAT watch polishing service in Chicago
Hi all,
I've scoured the reviews on Yelp and so far, I've found that most of the positive reviews on jewellery and watch service sites are praising the owners for freebies or inexpensive work done on their quartz watches. Not necessarily a problem to me but I wanted a true referral from some of you more critical, automatic watch enthusiasts. I'm looking to have one of my watches polished and would really like an expert that will be able to attend to my needs on the level of polish/detail I expect. If you're in the Chicago area, please let me know of any good recommendations where I can send my watch to have it polished. Thanks. |

Is Sutter's the go-to Rolex person on the forum? Initially, I had Sutter's and Kent Mikolite as the top choices but when I read the reviews specifically written by automatic watch customers I got a little concerned...
Thanks for all the help thus far. Keep 'em coming please!! |

Yup - Sutter's is the only authorized repair shop I know of in Chicago. Be advised, as last I check, they do not take credit cards - just cash or check. Welcome back to 1987. :) Oh, and parking sucks.
You can also try CD Peacock's at Old Orchard Mall. They have a Rolex boutique there and an in-house watchmaker. |

Thanks for all the responses thus far.
I do not actually own a Rolex yet, but looking to add one to the collection. Therefore, I'm not married to the service center/shop being an RSC. I'm gathering all the info at the moment for a reliable automatic watch service center and one that can do great polishing. Hope that clarifies it. |
