Honda takes care of these matters for me on a regular schedule.

Toyota does mine free with every oil change service. I change the oil every 5000 miles, so I expect that it doesn't get quite that bad normally.

I can't tell the cabin air difference between a clean and dirty one tbh.

Molecular breakdown isn't the only thing that fouls oil. Changing oil more often keeps any crud from accumulating. And, I get lifetime free oil changes and filter service on this car, so there is no advantage in stretching the PMI interval beyond the minimum the dealership offers.

Same with my wife's Nissan. The dealer only wanted $60. It was a PITA to get under the dash, but it only took about 10 minutes.

I don't know how much I pay, but I don't think it's anywhere near that. I bought a maintenance plan that I haven't really examined. I've never had one before, but at my age, I figured it's worth it and with oil changes coming as infrequently as they do nowadays, I may not have to pay out of pocket for another before I die. My dealership service department has always looked after my needs pretty well (four Hondas) and I just drop the car off and go bowling. When I'm done, they come pick me up and I'm good to go. Next time I take it in for an oil change, I'll check that out.

Mercedes sets an oil change at every 10,000 miles (Service A) and they change the cabin air filter every other service (Service B)
The cabin air filter doesn't live in a harsh environment like the oil filter does.

In 2010 my brother gave me his 2000 Acura TL. It took three days of detailing to return the interior to spec.
The cabin air filter was original to its 105,000 miles. Interesting to note, after Seafoaming the engine, a complete brake fluid flush, trans 3x3, plugs, and assorted other goodies, the car ran better than specification. |

This reminds me of a local gas station/car wash chain that routinely gives a pitch to people getting an oil change about how they need a new cabin air filter haha I see them sell on every time I'm there
