Any plans over Easter?
Hi guys,
What are your plans over the Easter holidays? Me? I'm taking the whole of next week off to spend some time with the family, especially the grandkids. Shall also try and catch up on some movies with Zemina. Would you believe it, but Subby has still not seen the inside of a cinema house!! I mean I've had him for just over TWO months now...which means that's how long it's been since my last flick. Hope you all have a nice and safe Easter weekend. Cheers - JJ

Will have to work this weekend. Our lovely Govt doesn't care about the accountants, they want all tax returns in by Apr 30th. But double time and a half for friday & saturday, goes towards my latest aquisition.
I picked up one on the weekend. Not sure if I should wear it right away or leave for a bit ( since I just got the PAM104 two weeks ago) Will see how my will power goes. I'm guessing it will be on my wrist by saturday.

It still has the plastic wrap on the watch.
My Pannie AD calls me ( a mere 11 days after my 104 was brought home). She advises they have a PAM188, PAM210 a couple bases etc JUST IN. So I head down to see. The 188 was nice. But it is too close to my 113 to put up the money they wanted ( even though it was a good price ( btw I think it's still available to anyone. I could pick up & mail to someone if they wish)). This is the white face chrono. Very nice looking, easy to read, the stop/second hand is not too obtrusive when stationary. The 210 was/is beautiful. Radiomir base, sandwich dial, two hand, hand wound on a nice black calf strap. Much thinner than the Luminors. On JJ's advice, I tried on 3 of the four YM's, even a Daytona and a DJ. They had some JLC's, Frank Mueler's, but that 210 just kept calling me back. So, at home, still BNIB is the 210. My delima , do I start wearing it now or , my birthday is in just 6 weeks. I can let my wife have it, then she & my dtr can give to me as a "suprise" gift( My daughter would be over the moon giving it to me, as she is as crazy about watches as I am). I told my AD, I was not sure if I should thank her or curse her for what she did She is a terrific person, so I thanked her. She said she would be sure to call me when more show up. ( Just to look ) They have ONE "Destro" coming sometime this year. That might be interesting, as my wife is a Lefty, and it is one we both could wear So, to keep you answer short, I acquired the 210 Like the Rollies, pictures don't do it justice. I will unwrap and sneak a pic or two tonight.

Big congrats John Good luck with that beauty and wear it in good health FWIW, I'd let your daughter give it to for your b-day. From the sound of it, she'll be as happy as you.

Okay, so I guess I should answer the original post, eh?
No real plans over Easter weekend. Have Friday off (also taking Thursday to get new rubber on the car) and no real plans for the weekend other than spending it at home. |

To get back on topic (a first for me) I'll be working as usual but will have Good Friday off. Even though I'm at work most of the time, I won't miss out on Easter eggs and hot cross buns.
BTW Congratulations on the new watch John.

VERY nice John. I love the 210!!!!
If I was you, I'd put it away and let your WIS-in-training daughter give it to you for your birthday. That way you both get to enjoy a special bonding moment. |

Very nice addition to the group, John. Wear it in good health (whenever you "officially" get it ).
And JJ, to answer your question, Easter is not our holiday. We plan to take in the Cezanne exhibit at the National Gallery and then we have tickets for the Wizards basketball game in the evening.

In NZ, we always get a FOUR day weekend over Easter...and Easter Monday is a great day for Sales as Easter Sunday is the day when the malls remain closed!
Something similar to X'mas day when everything is shut and opens up next day with a bang on Boxing day with tremendous sales. JJ
