My first Vintage...Yay or Nay?

I recently got the itch to own my very first Vintage Rolex. I really want something rare, so I narrowed it down to 2 watches, both GMT..... Yep, you guessed it, Rootbeer or Pepsi... Been reading, researching and found that the Rootbeer with a jubilee bracelet and nipple dial is rarer than a Pepsi. With that said, buying something rare means, gotta pay to play!! Found this 16753 in great shape, now the question is, should I pull the trigger?

It's a watch only deal, but a verified seller..

Thanks in advance for your comments...

I just got a Pepsi (16710, tritium dial, L serial dating it to 1989). I'd love to get a birth year root beer in the future.
Personally, I'm not crazy about the root beer on the two tone jubilee, but think it looks amazing on leather. The root beer isn't as versatile as the Pepsi in my opinion. Between the two, I'd get the Pepsi first.
That said, that's my preference. That root beer is great looking. If you really like it go fro it.

I'd go with the one from your other thread.

nah i prefer this one more

seriously tho it's pointless to post these "what should i buy" threads for if one doesn't know what they like then what's the point of buying? if the Op says it's from a "trusted seller" then it's legit and he isn't going to get screwed so either he likes the watch on not.

what's next "what should my favorite food be?"

If you're in Cebu, you're favorite food should be something that's readily available. For example, I am very fond of the dried mangoes from Cebu, but they only sell them here in my part of the US maybe once or twice a year, so it is safer to have a locally available favorite like cheezburgers. I'm teasing you because I agree, on some level: yes, these are purchases not to be made lightly because they cost more than a pack of gum, but if you are having a great deal of trouble making up your mind, perhaps the right choice hasn't come along yet, ah?

ahaha and yes i was teasing the Op a bit too. i feel bad when people want to buy a watch and ask others what they prefer as usually it just confuses the purchaser further and they may buy for the wrong reasons. i agree with you that if one has trouble making up their minds
then it's best to wait until the choice is clearer. could be the OP will start lusting for the two toned GMT and that's when it's time to make the choice

You really want something rare, is that correct? Does that mean that rarity is more important than esthetics? Seriously, if you want to enjoy your purchase, buy the model that gives you pleasure when you wear it.

neither are even remotely rare, so as others have stated buy what you love.

Personally I find that nipple dial ugly...but thats just one mans opinion.

I don't like rootbeer but it is YOUR choice. Buy what you love. I would get a pepsi myself.

What Vodka should I drink, what if I drank the wrong one all these years?

Ok, in order. If you have to ask if you are lactose intolerant, you probably are because something made you suspect it. I bought my nipple dial root beer precisely because I think it's the ugliest watch Rolex ever made, and sometimes I just want to wear an outrage. I even have a plaid band for it. If you have been drinking the wrong vodka for years, switch to Everclear immediately to sterilize your gut by burning off the entire inner layer of cells, then you can choose the correct vodka and begin rebuilding your inner self.

Yay for me. Don't worry about those calling it ugly, it took me a while to warm up to it and with time, it has become one of my favorite models.

Root Beer GMTs are classic cool, but have always been polarizing (less so now than 5 years ago). In other news - my spicy bean and cheese burrito lunch seems to confirm (much to my wife's chagrin) lactose intolerance.
