Would you pull the trigger? Cons and pros?
In my last thread " which is your end game for Rolex" i said my new grail is a Daytona C. So I had a half day off today and decided to visit a very reputable watch shop (non AD) to see if they got any goodies. They got a M series 16610lv with box and paper on their website and the it was gone the second day. I thought they just pull it down but no it was sold. Then before I wanted to take off, there was this white dial Daytona C got my attention. I bet it would got yours too.
The catch is this Daytona C was a black dial 116520, that got a bezel and dial swap. The watch came with the original pieces so later service at RSC wouldn't be a problem. No box and paper. No service record. The price tag is around 12700 USD. Do you guys think it's a good deal? What are the cons and pros, besides the hassle to switch back the dial and the bezel for RSC? |

The price is way too high and I assume you know the bezel is probably aftermarket? The asking price is around the MSRP for a real ceramic stainless daytona and they do seem to be becoming more available. Definitely pass.

What I was thinking is if they are aftermarket, at least it got the original pieces. So the worst scenario is it's like paying 12700 for a 116520 plus some worthless aftermarkets. Am I still missing anything?

$12700 is an outrageous amount for what you are describing. An 116520 without box or papers would be selling for <$10k in our classified ad section here.

Let's assume the dial and bezel would be fakes, which is where this thread ends.
