Thoughts on this 6263?

I am looking to trade my black dial 6263 for a silver dial and this one was offer to me.

Listed as 'very minimal if ever polished, all original with box and papers'.

Any red flags with watch or set?

Their asking price made my eyes water. How is the 6263 market these days...Strong, flat, soft?

Any thoughts or help is most appreciated.

Looks like a stunning example with all tritium plots intact and thick case. (Is there a dial scratch just below the 11 o'clock marker or is that on the crystal?)

I can't speak to the certificate, although I always prefer it when they're actually stamped and dated. Makes me nervous when they're blank like this. My full set, which I sold, was a little later (see below for comparison). What's the asking price? I think the market will always be strong for great examples. They're harder and harder to find.

Looks like a nice example, market pretty strong and rising 45k to 50k plus becoming the norm for good examples.

Market is strong for nice / complete examples like this one.

I think mark at 11 is dust on the crystal but you will want to make sure.

If you look at the biggest/main picture of the watch dial (3rd one down), there's no mark on the dial under 11 o'clock... so it's on the plexi. Looks like a stunner.

Thanks everyone.

It looked good to me as well but I have not handled it. Just have these pics.

I don't believe there is a scratch on the dial. But looks like a few hairlines on the plexi.

Not being represented as a 'complete set' but with boxes, tag and blank cert.

Don't want to break any rules regarding price discussion...so if this is out of bounds, Mods feel free to edit.

As I said, price made my eye twitch... (but then again, maybe mine is worth a little more than I thought!). Thats why I asked about the market.

I haven't really followed pricing but I was thinking market for something similar with box/cert would be in the mid $50ks. Their asking is in the high $60Ks. Thats why I asked if market was stronger than my expectations.

I have not tried to negotiate but I would not expect much movement. They seem to think pretty highly of it.

Love the watch but don't know if I could swing that price even if it is market. Trying to decide if its worth pursuing.

55k to 60k is the good range for me...

I love my black dial, but silver had seen calling me.

Want to trade for awhile?!

The 6263 full set I was interested is above sold before I could pull the trigger.

This silver dial has been offered to me by another seller.

Help me decide:

Keep my 1979 black dial, or trade for this 1986 silver dial (represented as mint)?

Not an even swap.

Will cost me some cash difference (my bezel has some dings).

What do you think?

Keep the black. The silver one is obviously stunning too, but the black is more classic and versatile (with different suits/clothes), IMHO, and usually brings more of a premium.

Keep the black, what a bizarre trade.

Thanks Aaron.
As they say, the grass is usually not greener.
I should probably stick with my black dial.
