Have you ever made a mistake?
Went into an AD today, not the one I usually use, just to have a look. He just happened to have in a BB Bronze come in for a customer,I asked for a look. Not allowed to take it out the box he showed me and it's a fantastic looking watch.
I missed my chance to buy one of these last week because I purchased the BB Dark a few weeks ago. Although I love the Dark, I think I may have made a mistake, anybody else done this?

Not with a BB, but I made the mistake of buying a DJ in Jubilee several years ago, only to realize that I'm an oyster guy.
And my buddy made the mistake of getting a gold diamond dial on his DD, only to realize it's too bling to be a daily wearer!

These are not really mistakes, they are just part of fine tuning what you like and don't really like on your WIS journey to building a grail collection, all part of the fun.

That's how this hobby goes, but easy enough to ractify, should you decide to do that!

Sounds like me, I just bought an 114060 because I always wanted a no date sub. Now that I have it I wish I would have purchased the new explorer I instead...I am working with the trusted seller I purchased from to trade so essentially I am buying the explorer for the price of new sub

Never made a mistake. I just flip watches until I find something that sticks. One day. Perhaps February.

I've never made a mistake, but I've had plenty of learning opportunities!

I got a Tudor BBB only to realize that I'd rather have gotten the BBN or R, but I still love it so it's not really a mistake.

I was thinking the exact same thing, sometimes the only way of finding out what you like is trying new things....

My mistake was not getting into Rolexes earlier!
I do a lot of research before buying a new piece so not too much room for mistakes. And since it takes me so long to save for each one I have a lot of time to think and make sure it's what I really want. |

Definitely agree with what's said. I got a BB black and that didn't last more than a month. Fantastic watch and kept time on really well but realized that i'm not a sub kind of guy. Ended up with an oyster 114300 on my wrist about a week later after a trade

Buying something that's available rather than waiting for what you really want. Getting better...

I see it as learning opportunity. You only know what you want after experiencing something.

I have made only one mistake in buying a watch and it wasn't an expensive watch.
I found a David Wellington online for about a hundred bucks that was close enough to the NOMOS style that I thought I'd like to see what it would look like on my wrist. I hate it, but that's no reflection on NOMOS and I'm still interested. It just doesn't fit my wrist well and even at 40mm, with no bezel it looks more like 50mm. I can truthfully say that of all the watches I've bought since I got the watch bug that I truly hate. I never even took a wrist shot of it. It resides in a drawer and maybe someday, I'll find someone who like it and I'll let that person have it. When it comes to expensive watches, I do enough research and soul-searching that by the time I lay down the money, I'm convinced that I going to love it.

To quote Edison (regarding the light bulb), "I have not failed. I've just found 10000 ways that won't work."
