Would I be crazy...

To sell off everything except the AP to help fund the 116509?

I'm not a huge Daytona fan but that combo is stunning. My opinion is to go for it. You'll be ready for work earlier since your watch decision will be easier every am. ;)

No Rolex in the would could fulfill my need of variety for me, so I wouldn't. I'm at a simple 2 watch rotation now, I can't imagine jumping from 12 to 1 and not kicking myself for it later on.

Yup, I would 100% do that. I can't imagine having that many watches, I prefer a more consolidated collection.

I'd sell a few (GS, Nomos, everything in the back row save Tudor and Speedy) and pick one up used with a little cash on top.

I'd keep your Reverso and Milgauss. The rest are possible flips IMHO.

Good Luck,

Grant

As I got older I realized I only wore one watch most of the time. If that is you, then do the trade. That Daytona is stunning. Why have a bunch of okay watches gathering dust? I would go for 2 grails, one of which you have (AP). But that is me.

I generally prefer quality over quantity. A two-watch collection consisting of only the AP and the Daytona would be small, but rock-solid - two awesome pieces, and zero fluff or fat. That said, you already own the watches you have, and you probably won't recoup what you spent on them. On balance, I think it's generally better to keep than to sell, unless you have absolutely no affinity for the watch anymore. Personally, I see some watches in your collection besides the AP I'd be inclined to keep, but others could easily be let go with minimal regret. The question is, which ones would you regret no longer having?

I would do that in a heartbeat. However, I would do what I can to keep the Reverso in addition to the AP and pony up a bit more cash if possible.

My thought too, need a no nonsense beater for rough duty and the other two are too pretty for that work

Nope, not crazy! Two beautiful pieces with daily wearability, and then start back to making a new collection at you leisure....
