116500LN Daytona resale prices dropping
I bought my first Rolex earlier this year. After getting bit by the bug, I built a little side project to collect watch prices online. I find it interesting to see these trends.
One of the most interesting valuations being the resale value of 116500LNs. The resale value has fallen from $18k in October now down to ~$16,500. From the data, it doesn't look like that drop will slow either. Anyway hopefully this is interesting to others. If you have a watch you'd like me to look up the value from my data, just let me know. Happy to help! Happy holidays! Last edited by etp; 25 December 2016 at 02:09 PM.. Reason: Removed img |

Interesting, with all those pieces being offered for sale - really puts a dent in the whole hard to find/exclusive image that Rolex and ADs are trying to push. Are you just populating this with data for the asking price? I'm sure you'd find the average transacted price for the 116500LN to be quite a bit lower than 16,500 as well.

I can look those up - yeah unfortunately I don't have access to actual transacted price. I'm sure you are right that these are probably higher than the transacted price. However it would make sense that listed values follow reality so the trend is probably correct.

Are those numbers represenitive of the white dial, or black?

Here it is broken down by white vs black dial. Looks pretty close as there isn't a consistent delta. In the last month, a couple of white dial prices seem to buck the trend, but I think those are abnormal.

That's really neat, thanks for sharing! I hope the downtrend continues to accelerate, especially after Basel.

This is cool! Are you using only certain sites like TRF, watchuseek, or are you tracking a bunch of others? Also we only really know the list price and not actual sold prices. I'd be interested in knowing what the actuals are but I am sure we will never really know. I wonder how much budge sellers give.

I've been working on this for a while, already have all Rolex models and prices. Before I open it to the public, there is still more work to do.

Btw, for the 116710 stats you have is that ln and Blnr? Can you separate them?

I'd also like to see the BLNR separated out.
Perhaps an average price as well. Thanks for doing this! I'm looking for a BLNR right now, but don't want to overpay. :) |

Are your stats based on all BNIB prices or is it a mix of used second hand pieces?
