Anybody own a Jukebox? Curious your experiences....

Ive been contemplating purchasing one for a while now and just havent found the right one. Curious if anybody owns one and if so, what kind, 45s/78/33s/cds, etc? Also do you enjoy or regret your purchase?

Ive located a wurlitzer 1015 "one more time" in mint condition, its completely refurbished by an authorized dealer and plays vinyls/45s which I want.

Lastly, i'd love to see some pictures of yours if you have!

Thank you!!

This is a link to the kind im considering: http://www.pinballrebel.com/archive/...me_jukebox.htm

Yes, I've had a few AMI's, RockOlas, Seeburg's and Wurlitzer's.

For me buying a "one more time" is like buying a Gazelle when you want an Excalibur.

What is your budget for a box and most importantly how are you going to use it.

Are there different ways to use it?

Let me explain it in watch terms for easier understanding.

Would you buy an old DJ for diving purposes only?

Nope, I would buy a young DJ instead of a jukebox because they have the last CD's.

In the back ground is a Seeburg 100 a very reliable box.

Relaxing in the chair is my dear friend "Ingo" (RIP) who some of you boxing fans might recognize?

Friend of mine had one for CD's...bought it nearly 20 years ago. We stocked it with 100 CD's, and I made the cards that inserted with all the songs titles.

Never changed one over all these years, and now the selection is pretty dated.

Would love to own a vintage jukebox. They are the absolute perfect addition to any recreation room (alongside a 4.5'x9.00' pool table, pinball machine(s) and a well-stocked bar with beer on tap). The ones that play 45s are the most desirable (to me). Digital CD & MP3 jukeboxes are OK for contemporary 'dive bars' but there is just something about the old 'analog' sound (and it's overall warmth) that offers an ongoing appeal

A question arises. Are there competent/specialized techs who can actually service and maintain these older devices so that they are operating at optimum performance? I can't imagine any Gen-Xer (or Millennial aged) individual even/ever having a clue as to what these classic machines are all about. Lastly, it would be supercool to have one of those remote/programmers (with the flipping selection menu) in another room to set-up the tunes. Just like the old-time coffee shop/diners 'back in the day'.

Ingemar Johansson! Former heavyweight boxing champion of the world after beating Floyd Patterson. My dad was a boxer and Swedish, so I grew up knowing who he was.

Fair analogy, reason I was thinking OMT is slightly more modern internals but still plays 45s. I was thinking up to around $8k which seems to be the going rate for the "One More Time" boxes right now. I plan on listening to it and playing it My wife and I both love vintage, 50s and 60s era music, love vintage vinyl.

I agree! I grew up where my father had a beautifully redone '52 Seeburg Selectomatic. Just loved his but Im a sucker for the 1015 (like somebody else mentioned worried a '46 1015 original, there's just not enough talent these days to work on the machine and being a GenX, I just don't have the abilities to work on the piece if something were to go wrong!

This was my concern (I'm a GenX and not very good mechanically, thats why I was thinking the Wurlitzer One More Time, somewhat new components, still get the look of the original, play 45s, etc.

Agreed with this, that's why I was looking at the 1015 OMT time, newer internals, but vintage look of the '46 1015. I could go with the Rockola look-a-like, or the Antique Apparatus, but figured the Wurlitzer One More Time was the last from Wurlitzer company itself, figured if I don't have the real deal 1946s, Wurlitzer making the One More Time was next best thing.

Growing up we had a Wurlitzer 1015 that played 45's, I have fond memories listening to it. I can't recall it ever having an issue after 20+ years. IMO records are the only way to go, I wouldn't get CD's.
