Trf what websites do you use to make your travel plans?
Trf what websites or tricks do you use to book flights or Hotels? While on businees this week a customer told me about a site called Skiplagged and man it works great for flights. Thanks for your input.

I book flights directly with the airline. If anything happens, the airline's customer service can often be less than helpful if you didn't buy direct. They "may" have you contact the agency you bought the ticket from (ie. Yahoo, expedia, etc.). For hotels, I typically use Hotwire. It can be a crap shoot sometimes, but stick to a minimum of 3 stars and 85 percent rating and you should be ok.

For flights, I use various search apps (Expedia, etc.), then book with the airline directly. I found that they will always match the third party price when prompted.
I had a problem with a cancelled flight I booked on Expedia once. The airline didn't care and Expedia wasn't useful while standing in the airport. Booking with the airline directly gets you some actual customer service when problems arise. |

I used to use Expedia, Travelocity, etc but lately been booking directly with the airlines since I don't see any price differences.

Usually use google flights to check prices then book directly with the airline/hotel online. If rates aren't great online, I may call to try to negotiate.

I'll usually check with one of the usual sites then book direct. But it's a great way to find all the airlines going non-stop at the times I want, and the relative prices.
Same for hotels. I always like to call the hotel direct so I can ask things like if any rooms have been recently remodeled, views, inquire about early arrival/late checkout, etc. Also, the hotel site may have packages and specials that don't show up on the virtual travel agency sites.

Hotels Trivago. Flights Kayak Hipmunk or Expedia. Sometimes I will try contacting the airline/hotel direct and negotiate but only if I feel in the mood. I have never had an issue with a flight or hotel booked through a third party.

For flights I use Kayak just to compare and then go directly to the airline's website. For hotels I try to stay in IHG or Marriott and use their app or website but always check between AAA and member's rate (sometimes check with Amex Travel services when leisure or when I know they have a good promotion or for a hotels in the Fine Hotels and Resorts). For car rentals, Amex and try to go with Hertz

I've used all those travel sites in the past. Some good and some bad. Now I go directly to the airlines and hotel sites. They all offer best rate guarantees and I don't risk the chance of a third party screwing it up.

I often use Expedia because they have better prices on flight and hotel when I book it at the same time.

Google Flights is hands down the best search method. Then book directly with the Airline or with Credit card travel site.
I've used SkippedLeg before when I needed a quick return from Seattle. Obviously be sure you are only bringing carry-ons. Also booked with the airline directly. Hotels with Amex, get the fine hotels and resort perks, always double check the hotel directly. Or Hotels tonight when making late notice reservations. |

I use my travel agent. I tell them where I want to go and when, they do everything for me, they know my preferences etc.. However, I often check the prices online to make sure I am getting a good deal, it turns out I usually am.

Hotels.com for hotels. Or booking.com if I can't find anything. Car rentals I'll use kayak. I usually fly united, so anything Star alliance through united, else kayak.

Been using Expedia for most of our bookings lately! We have had very few hitches over all
