I'm no legal beagle but found this interesting...

Never realised it was a legal entity on my watches... Learn something new everyday.

The FAQs at the Swissness website also had an interesting side note -
Not included in the 60% manufacturing costs (now Rolex must be at least 60% Swiss content) are natural products that cannot be produced in Switzerland (e.g. gold). Raw materials, for which it is clearly established in accordance with an ordinance or a publicly available information from an industrial branch that there is insufficient availability in Switzerland due to objective reasons, may also be excluded from the calculation.

Full FAQ is at: https://www.ige.ch/fileadmin/user_up..._Swissness.pdf

That's interesting as it looks like the brand 'Victorinox' gets a waiver for using the Swiss cross.
Never knew the Swiss had this all covered - must be a minefield for Rolex legal team to determine the 60% rule.

Not much work since they had been adhering to the previous 50% content mandate. They have been bringing more and more in-house over the years. The higher content percentage hits smaller brands more so - that's because many used ebauche movements which ETA stopped providing a few years ago.
