Basel is upcoming... Rolex will introduce something new and shiny and I think a good amount of people will flock towards that. Which will open up the market availability and lower the price points for Daytona C slightly.
My personal opinion, not saying that the all the people wanting a Daytona C are just in it cause of the hype, but I am sure that is a somewhat true statement. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

I also called my AD the minute they opened when it was released and they said I was the only one on the list. I call about once a month and they still say they have me on the list even though I know they have gotten at least 2 or 3 in.
In a way, I'm glad though, it got me seriously looking at the AP chronographs and they are far superior. |

Wait a couple of years, I know I will.
Did the same with a previous 116520, waited until the dust settled, wore it for a few months and ended up flipping it (as I usually do). I find the hunt more fun that actual ownership for some reasons in most cases.

One of the very few blemishes on an otherwise outstanding manufacture. |

Not directed at op or anyone in particular.... but:
How come no one is complaining when AD sells their other models for lower than MSRP to the grey market sellers, and they in turn pass on the savings to the buyers?? AD's that deal with grey market sellers now happen to have a chance to mark up on a Rolex model and make some profit. I say if the market bears that price increase, why not? Also, I would say every Rolex owner in this forum has benefited from Rolex's pricing and supply/demand control practices. (Your current watch is maintaining value, or at least not losing as much as other brands, yes?) Just my 2 cents.

Since you are in England, I can't give you a good answer. In the US Rolex USA in NYC controls shipment allocation of models to its dealers. Dealers designated high volume are usually given preference. Dealers with lower volume, sit lower on the model preference scale. Additionally Montres Rolex in Switzerland controls worldwide allocation. Rolex may decide to favor N.A. (us and ca) or Europe, or far east. The individual dealer in his/her own store has no say or control, except by selling lots of watches. Maybe this helps.

The manager at the local Rolex dealer to me, on the basis that I buy a dssd, the waiting list for a cd is 50 years, I think she was enjoying the hype and feeling important in her role as manager. Needless to say I won't be buying from her. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Still can be done though without a huge input of cash. |

Although I'm still waitlisted - the more I admire my YG Daytona the less certain I am that the Daytona 500 will be a keeper...
