It was a lap time race, I read the article in the mag and they go into more detail. The GT-R finished first on lap time, that is all. My only point was that C&D got a full 1/2 faster on the 0-60 and 2 seconds faster on the 0-100 compared to the other review.

You are absolutely correct Moby33.........my only complaint about the Shelby Gt 500 is the suspension, front and rear otherwise, you cannot beat this car for the money. The KR version is 30k more and they are still asking over sticker for the them. Only 30 more horsepower but its lighter (lot of carbon fiber parts) and Shelby has redone the suspension to a degree but at 80 grand, I think I'd buy a a 69 or 70 Mach I 428CJ or a Boss 429

Good point on the Mach I...god knows you wouldn't have to worry about that purchase being worth 50% less in a couple years like any new ride. I love the classics for their style & overall appreciation value. Then again, at least you hardly have to worry about a new GT500 turning over when you're a long way from home...something you can never get out of the back of your head when owning & driving classics. As with anything in life, there are always pros & cons to everything. Cheers.

Don't think the platform changed that much to really bring down the nums! So one would think the list is pretty accurate.

If one thought that, then one would still be incorrect.

For production vehicles, spot for #1 & #2 records were set in 2008 ('09 Viper ACR & '09 Vette ZR1) & #3 set in '07 (Pagani Zonda)...of the top 10 spots, 7 are held by cars & records set after '05. So respectfully, I still disagree. Cheers.

So let me get this straight the Z06 has not changed as a platform, since 05, but the newer cars as you mentioned along with quit a few Porsches have better times over the Z06. Hmm so the list is inacurate. The newer cars are just placed on the list where they fall. The Z06 which by the way is what this discusion was all about moves even further down the list as new adds with faster times are put on the list. So I am not catching your logic. Until the Z06 is reengineered it stays on the list where it is. Cars don't move up on the list until the manufacturer updates the car and it is worthwhile to make the run.

So yes it does tell all as it relates to the Z06 and current posted cars. BTW the list reflects runs in Sept 08.
