I regret clicking on that video link. Very annoying character. Lost me when he said his friend buys watches for investments.

In terms of the fast one pulled by the ad it sucks if true. However there are three sides to any story and we are only hearing none. The guy who got screwed isn't even telling it. If he wants the watch this badly just pay 17k for it.

As much as I agree that it's bs it doesn't surprise me... The A.D. wanted to show whoever the celebrity douche bag was that oh yeah they have one of the hardest and most sought after new Rolexes available and no he won't have to wait.. while people like the gentleman on the waiting list who has a good previous relationship with that particular jeweler got the shaft... it's all about the celebrity status and in this instance and I'm sure most other instances it worked out for him but not so much the gentleman on the list but I would go through the proper channels to make Rolex aware of this situation however and I don't know this but I highly doubt they will lose their A.D. status as a result but I could be wrong

Well IF all the circs are true, it's a poor affair. To tell him whilst he is on the way to pick up a PP from them seems like a true stroke of business acumen lol.

We all know that celebs etc jump the queue just because they are celebs, but to take him off the list sounds ridiculous. Sounds like he was a guaranteed sale. Not all on waiting lists are !!

Two questions I would ask.

1/ is this guy a flipper, he did say he buys for investment so was his plan to sell on immediately.

2/ what the hell is a cricketeer ?? Lmao
(You guys in USA might not get this at all)

even if he was a flipper and had stated clearly that he was gonna resell it.. once on the list.. i dont think its ok to take his name out (assuming he was a flipper)

there is more to the story probably but i dont think that any small new detail could change the overall view of what happened.

There are a few new faces that have popped up on YouTube in recent months talking about watches etc.

Some of the content is completely bogus and people involved quite annoying.

... And that's not even talking about our Australian friend.

Everyone thinking that these "lists" are some systematic thing - either merit-based or time-based - is just fooling themselves. They are not an official Rolex policy and are completely at the discretion of the AD. If the AD thought selling to the celebrity was in their best interest, so be it.

That said, I agree there's more to this story. Why would the AD remove this guy from their list completely? Makes no sense.

Also, if he's buying all these watches, including Pateks, just pay the stupid gray market price and be done with it.

I could see being bumped for a celebrity, that's one of the unfortunate thing is with the game we play... being removed from the list entirely? I find that very hard to believe.

If it is true, it's probably after walking away from the PP deal and having himself removed from the waiting list... that's what I would've done, and just have gone to another AD and start the waiting game again.

Maybe he was calling everyday checking to see if they got a shipment and drove them all crazy

Not sure, would like to hear all sides of the story. Seems odd the AD would tell someone they gave away his Daytona on the phone as he is driving in to pick up another watch. If they are so unscrupulous you would think they just wouldnt tell him and give him the next one that comes in?

The AD can do whatever they please, abide by the list or have people jump ahead on the list. The Customer does not have to buy from the AD in the future.

Losing a long time customer to a celeb that MIGHT buy one or two watches is stupid. Just make the purchase else where.

This is nothing new !!! It happens all the time ...
unfortunately!

I got bored half way through ... why he felt compelled
to arbitrate on behalf of his friend on YouTube is beyond me... ?
Personal satisfaction or to a YouTube star himself...?

I don't know why he would been removed from "the list", but getting leapfrogged shouldn't be a surprise. It is in Rolex's best interest, and dare I say resale value's best interest as well, to have their watches on as many high-profile wearers wrists as possible. It's all part of the game.

Said perfectly!! What a whiner, and why didn't the "friend" make the video himself if he was soooo upset!

Maybe he didnt have a youtube channel that could spread the news better than that channel.

Its a hypothesis.

Did you see the print of Venice on the wall? Think I saw the same one at a tent sale outside of a gas station.
