Basel 2017, What about SS Sky Dweller

Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are for 2017, what's the odd's of a Sky Dweller in SS?

A lot of the other watches are now available in SS e.g. the Yachtmaster 2 finally made it and I was wondering how many of these Sky Dweller's they actually sell throughout the world in the precious metal's?

What's everyone's thoughts?

I think they can make it by placing it around $11K mark just under Daytona. It will still retain its market and yet open new crowd towards it.

It will never happen, the movement is too expensive for a SS watch so it will only be in a gold or platinum watch.

I guess that depends on how the sales of the current SkD is going.

Well, Ym2 is in the "professional category" and pm watches in that group are generally available in tt and ss. Sky-d is not in that category.

My guess is it is unlikely, but ss C-Daytona was unexpected in 2016. Maybe their new CEO has some more surprise for us!

Until then, a pseudo-ss:

A. They won't do it
B. If they did, it would be priced higher than the YM2
C. See A

I think if they did it would be around 20k msrp. I would consider adding one.

Would I like a SS SkyDweller? Yes.

Will it happen? I don't think so.

Better odds of a platinum SkyDweller.

I don't think it will happen anytime soon, but I suppose it's possible. Maybe if RPR is correct and they add the annual calendar module onto the day-date then they will make it in SS

try double that

I for one don't think it's in the cards. The skydweller will be treated like the DD.

It'll happen the same year that they introduce the Day Date in SS. In other words - I don't think it'll ever happen.

Those two models belong in a special category, and I like the fact that they're not available in SS, even though that does put them out of my reach.

Will never happen. The annual calender is the most complex Rolex movement they would never put it in a non precious metal case. And definitely nowhere near $11k. LOL

Only precious metal.... why would they want to "under value" this top of the range time piece?

I don't think they will come in ss. Just like DD, it is complex and premium watch. They will not come in ss. But if sky dweller do come in ss, for sure I will add on to my collection. Though it is not likely going to happen, if it does, I am sure everyone Rolex fans will try to get their hands on this one!!

Well... actually with the new CEO you never know what can happen.

If it did happen, it would be high on my wishlist.

This year to mark 5th Anniversary of Sky Dweller in this respect, I am expecting to see some new arrangements in Sky Dweller department. May be stainless steel may be Platinum. The former will unlikely to happen I have asked this question to my AD and other watch insiders and the answer was no.
If not more dial options like index to go with gold models wouldn't be bad at all

If a perpetual calendar is ever released then it becomes a possibility as we have a new flagship complication.

That would be a VERY expensive SS watch.
Most likely $20K+.
Just don't see that happening.
